My LDL is high. But my ratios are good.
I refused to take the statin. Doctor finally gave up and told me : no come to see me anymore since you won't take my meds. So just gave 2 years open date.
You deserve a much more capable doctor.

paiseh. i meant HDL.....

I was working out intensely for a few mths and then while the LDL dropped, the HDL increases.....
Actually you were not wrong.
I googled.
Very intense exercising can raise LDL
They tested 6 runners after 4 hour run. All showed increase in LDL.
But I dunno whether it's temporary only or what

Intermittent fasting promote weight lost and thus reduce not just fats but cholesterol it also help insulin resistance and sensitivity.
A Haward study on this confirm the finding but need more extensive studies to determine if it has any bad side effects in the long term
it’s been proven eating less is the best sure way not just to promote health with less inflammation but also extend life…
Read that intermittent fasting > increase cardiac cases.
But also read that intermittent fasting should not mean skipping breakfast ( which i think many people do, as it is the easiest way to do intermittent fasting). Better to have earlier dinner , and have breakfast in the morning

She feels that i had a stroke that can't be detected by the scan. Just cos, while waiting to be discharged ( for something unrelated), i got double vision whenever I looked in a particular direction . And
so I should get my figures super low.
She had initially prescribed a super high dosage of statin, double the amount that a friend who has had multiple strokes is taking

ya i think its a DNA thing. i hardly eat actually.

stop eating fried food.

stop eating highly toxic chips like Doritos which has medium chain triglycerides.

cut meals to 1-2. do a 16h fast. eat early dinner, skip lunch if possible, usually i skip lunch in the weekends or WFH days.

for me i walk 10-12km once a week. other days also need to walk till 10k steps.
Me too . Just that the exercising is usually less than 10k steps.
For many months, more than a year.
Oats every breakfast, or for lunch if skipped breakfast. Fish , usually steamed with brocoli, for lunch
Dinner if chicken, for months it's been mainly breast meat which I don't like). If pork , is lean or loin.
More than a year also no improvement in my fasting blood test.
Next time I go for a test, I'll not exercise on the way to the test. Must take the shuttle instead of brisk walk to the clinic.😂

eat less each meal. replace the "missing" portion with a fruit. less carbo eg rice. less sugar. no oily stuff. diet is a major cause cause followed by genes which we cant control. so control the diet.

exercise wise, dont go for those high intensity ones. what you need is to burn off calories. walk/brisk walk is safer than jogging. you dont know inside got any blockages or not at this point, so dont overwork the body.

What exactly is the missing portion you referring to? Why use a fruit when fruits are usually sweet with fructose and add calories?

Your oat not 3in1 type right Just to clarify. Anyway I am not against statin if my diet change does not improve my ldl, I will take statin too.
some people do have genetic problems of high ldl which can’t be control with lifestyle changes.
High ldl causes cardiac or neurological issues are support by clinical study supports by peers and stat. But end of the day still up to individuals to believe it or not, it your own life anyway.

Certain people are more vulnerable to chronic inflammation, it’s crucial to first rule out the sources of inflammation before taking these medications.

So people with autoimmune disease will always have high LDL?

Good to know that it works. May I know how often, and the duration and intensity (heart rate)? Apart from jogging, any other physical activities you did?

Yes, people with autoimmune diseases often have high cholesterol. Autoimmune diseases cause chronic inflammation, which can damage blood vessels and lead to the buildup of plaque. This plaque can narrow the arteries, making it harder for blood to flow and increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Some medications used to treat autoimmune diseases can raise cholesterol levels.

However, not all individuals with autoimmune diseases will have high cholesterol.

Just jogging. No change in diet. Start slow maybe 1 km. Run at own pace. Gradually I ran up to 10 km each time. 5 times a week.

So about 50km a week? Seems too much?

I'm a bit old liao... Too much cardio will increase cortisol and bad for me.

Recent months jogged 8 to 10 km every weekend. Got some indoor cycling and bodyweight/dumbells training on 2 or 3 weekdays. Only raised hdl but not decrease ldl.
