Any potential benefits will be negated by risks of being an underweight.
It makes sense for people who are overweight.

But I'm not underweight at the moment.
For eg recently ate alot of bakgua... Hopefully fasting will negate all the bad stuffs.

Tonight ate alot of roasted duck, including a drumstick of it. Now doing dumbells training at home. Just now jogged 15 mins.

I fully agree with this view. Fasting is meant for those who are overweight. If you are already underweight, I advise you not to fast. Also I notice you wanted to be in "autophagy", note that cancer cells love autophagy and use it to support their growth. If you check your LC3, FGF21 and even Beclin1, you will realise only c.10 or more days of fasting will they be elevated with uA and CMA turned on, not just M-autophagy.
How do u attain such knowledge? Thru Internet or u studied a science degree? This is too complicated. I will moderate it.

I think got other better foods or drinks alternatives. Like eating avocado and drinking green tea?

avocado is because of good fat. In principle, eating good fats like olive oil helps. Fish oil supplement is good fats like omega 3 but the amount is too little unless you eat fatty fish like salmon, sardine, mackeral 3-4 times a week.

Ligament can always be strengthened by many reps of exercise to encourage blood flow to the area
Surgery is not a cut open his ankle and tada a brand new ankle, if he over exert he is going to sprain his ‘fixed’ surgery ankle again.
once cut open surrounding tissue nerves could be affected, and after the surgery your doctor will prescribe u the physio exercises
of course if he is going to make a career out of it the pros should outweigh the risk con if not just OT OT can already

I know how most pte specialists work, in a sense that if they see slight chance of surgery, they are likely to jump on it. It's quite bad to have this negative perception of them to place monetary gain before patients' benefits.

Therefore, I put my nephew under the public system. Let the hospital treat him for about a year with all sorts of xrays, scan, physio, heat therapy, cream etc etc (sort of monthly appt). Then finally ortho gave admission form to confirm surgery.

It is then I booked a pte ortho for him to seek a second opinion of whether the surgery is necessary (the form says it's a surgery for "Right ankle arthroscopy...lateral ligament repair". I checked pte indicative pricing for this (lucky still can afford):

If the pte ortho diagnosed the same as the public ortho, then will go for it under the pte ortho (cannot see him keep getting grounded at home due to sprained ankle. I can sense his frustration.).

I struggling with this statin decision for about a year now, combing and reading, comparing data etc etc. Coz the data are conflicting, I have not made the decision yet (esp his other indicators are all good and cardiologist actually OK for him to wait some more).

Will continue to monitor esp with the results of the Lp(a) that I hope don't turn up super high (that will have bearing in my decision making).

Really appreciate your sharing. 'Battling' this in an 'intellectual' way is quite a lonely journey.
Just understand that, when it comes to chronic conditions. U can compare modern medicine to blind men touching an elephant and trying to describe an elephant by the part they are touching.

Almost none of them are looking at the issue from a holistic perspective.

Lipidologist just look at cholesterol levels.
Cardiologist just look at heart function.
Nephrologist just look at kidney function.
And the list goes on.

None of them have the full picture if they do not look beyond their field.

No point fasting.
Insulin promotes fat storage and inhibits the fat metabolism process.

Fasting controls your insulin spikes, and allows time for your body to burn fat and not be in a perpetual state of heightened insulin levels rendering the body being unable to burn fat.

Just need to look at Muslims during fasting month, most of them lose a lot of weight even though they whack alot food in morning and evening.

Slim and high cholesterol.
My guess is, their diet not very carb heavy.
And body is burning more fat for energy.
This is known as the "lipid energy model". U can Google search this term...it is quite recent.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35629964/

So if the body is burning more fat for energy, it is natural that more cholesterol particles are required to carry the fat around the body for metabolism.

This is my best guess
