Hisense TV

Really very confusing this Brand’s info.

Their specs are not accurate, or rather they use the best possible specs for the technologies used instead. They state their VA tvs have 178 viewing angle... when the optimal is more like 20 degrees since they skimp on technologies that improve viewing angles to cut costs and lower price instead.

upgraded from tcl 55c6 to Hisense u8h . Picture seems much better might need some time to get use to / adjust the setting .

connected up to my Xbox series x and change the tv to enhanced mode(game mode ) to get 4K 120hz . N stuff but on my Xbox stated that the tv support dhoby vision up to 4k60hz .

So not sure if they will push update to support 4k120hz anot as LG seems to push out update for the CX / GX series .

Another issue faced is default doesn’t have playstore . Only vidaa store which has very limited apps . Any one know if we can side load the apps we want ? Or sideload playstore ? Looking for tvb anywhere

Is this tv, Android/Google TV based hence the absence of Playstore?

Not really good at identifying it tho . But from what I see from side n such . I would say it’s Ips panel .
If not wrong previously did check with Cso they also mention it’s ips

the U8H they selling is not google tv. its using their Vidaa OS. thus, there wont be any playstore. it doesnt even have the option to download mewatch if im not wrong. cause the u7g i have, doesnt have it and is confirmed by the sales.

would be great if can see some picture of your u8H. if is really IPS and the contrast ratio is worse than the U7G VA panel.. then i think really need to think twice?

Yup, the U8H version brought in by Hisense authorized distributor is based on their in-house Vidaa OS. It currently is missing the MeWatch and Viu TV app. The sales person mentioned that they are trying to get the two earlier mentioned apps onboard by the end of the year.

I viewed the U8H set at their office but was difficult to assess the picture quality properly as it was situated inside a dark room.

Looking forward to hear Myu-sun's review and photos of the U8H.

They have a office in Woodlands. Contact them via Facebook or Whatsapp to book appointment for viewing.

Do note they have very limited models for viewing, so check with them in advance.

That being said, their showroom at Courts Tampines, should hopefully be open by end of the month as well.

85” below $3k. I think Samsung entry level is $3.5k, Sony probably $4.5k. I think quite ok if warranty same same

Almost all of their mode are using Vidaa OS.
Only like A4 and A7 are Android TV

Not a lot of details in the dark areas and I don't know why they are filming from the side, which doesn't help...
I wonder if the reviewer is using vivid mode..
I don't think the speakers are very powerful.. 2X10W is quite bog standard for slim modern TVs, and the bass cuts off by 100Hz or so..
The challenge is that the price encroaches on the OLED C1 pricing... so if you don't want OLED, this is an alternative, otherwise for premium sets, the Sony X90K is also an alternative.

I think the U8H 65 inch is going for around $2,300 whilst the OLED C1 55 inch is around that pricing too. So for the same price, you can get a bigger Hisense mini-LED screen versus a smaller LG OLED panel.

Waiting for someone to do a comparison of the TCL C825 and Hisense U8H. Both use mini-LED tech, so will be interesting to see which performs better. Suspect the U8H is brighter, but the TCL C825 comes with a much better Onkyo build-in sound system

Actually the 65" street price is around 2.8k, so if someone wants a tried and test platform or OS plus good contrast, the LG satisfied that.
It's a pity that the 77 and 83" are so much more.
The value point lies in the lower ranges.
Also make sure it's the same OS and panel type when buying.. the international online reviews don't demo the same stuff we get locally..
