SG consumer are almost always being shortchanged in terms of paying more and getting less quality spec product .

remember Galaxy note series ? our market always gets the non-snapdragon version as compared to other region.

Come to think of it.

My non-snapdragon Samsung note 4 still going strong after 10 years. My snapdragon note 4 dies after 7 years.

Question:

Hisense U7H (IPS) or Sony X900F (VA) ?

Which is better for 1 user watching movies, dramas & sports and playing SP games, since both about same price?

I go with the colour of a video that I can accept. As long as it looks way better than what I have watch. I feel it’s worth the money spend rather than save some money here and there and get short change on quality.
I use Netflix shows like peaky blinders season 1 ep2 .. quite a number of dark black scenes and colors as well as sandman.. for cartoon colors I go with the Chinese New Gods: Nezha

I'm assuming you are buying from a PI and know that it's a panel from at least three years ago?
Make sure there is sufficient support when things go wrong with the Sony...

I guess U8H (US) > R655 = C835 (VA) > U8H (IPS) SG-version.
Good luck!

The link you sent does not mention about IPS.

It only indicates that VA panel has more ghosting issues.
Nope. Ghosting or motion blur, is caused by slow pixel response times. Lower the response times, lesser the motion blur in fast-action games.

The link showed that the top 20 TVs having the least motion blur, are OLEDs.
Next 14 top TVs below the OLEDs are VA panels.
Then comes 2 IPS TVs.
Then another 2 VA TVs.
Then 1 IPS TV.
Then 5 VA TVs.
Followed by the rest, which are a mix of IPS & VA TVs.

As far as TVs are concerned, while OLED TVs are undoubtedly the best for gaming, top LED TVs have been shown to be having the least motion blur for fast-action gaming using VA panels. While VA panels may inherently have more apparent ghosting issues, manufacturers can tune their VA panels to be just as good or even better than IPS panels. It is my believe that since TVs are all about movies and visuals, where contrast and blacks are of utmost importance (compared to gaming), manufacturers have chosen to develop VA panels to their maximal; thus resulting in better response times in their top VA TVs, while enjoying almost-OLED level of blacks and contrast - something IPS panels can never achieve natively.

Monitors may have a different story though, coz theirs is likely to be more gaming-focussed than movies i.e. IPS is the way to go.

Finally decided to get CCWGTV 4K for my U8H just to bypass the YT frequent ads and use the Google TV interface.

power to the dongle have to use the supplied adapter . I tried using TV USB 2 or 3 port , not very stable as in sometime it work and once you reboot the dongle it will displayed the dread power connection screen.

those thinking of getting one do take note.

How do you find your U8H now after a while? Would you say it's.. 'inferior' to the US version?

VA still have worse ghosting issues and poorer viewing angle. Ghosting is like some light which appears to look like ghosts. Anyway, there's also color accuracy issue.

Features like local dimming and hdr10+ will improve contrast ratio so image will be more clear on advanced models.

in terms of OS, no doubt VIDAA is still light years behind GTV

in term of PQ, I think IPS looks great as compare to my old TCL VA panel
