[8-lane]

Hey guys... u know there are 2 types of cordless mic receiver sets for karaoke right (see below)... if u want to connect either one of them to a an amp or powered speaker... what kind of input jack/s must the amp or powered speaker have? Is it just need an ordinary audio-in jack or does the amp/powered speaker need to have a mic interface with mic-input jacks?

Yes. Referring to the 6.35mm mic jack in the 1st pics of ur post. Ur 2nd pic doesn't show the mic jack but I'm guessing it to be the same.

Oh so mic receivers that have a normal audio aux-out can be connected to a normal audio aux-in of any amp or powered speaker including those w/o a mic interface?

Yes. In the sample pic below showing a wireless receiver + built-in amp, mic refers to MIC input:

The pic below shows the same device with ports at the rear, showing both 3.5mm INPUT & OUTPUT labelled as AUDIO :

PS: I'm using this device to connect the GREEN AUDIO OUTPUT(Above) to the 3.5mm AUDIO INPUT of a portable speaker and it works as I intended to be.

The brand is apparently from Malaysia and is selling below S$600.

The slim profile, all-in-one approach and soundbar-like design are what makes it very attractive... IMHO.

I had their Jazpiper Plus Premiuim (similar to Jazpiper Plus V2) all-in-one soundbar before... their song choice is quite wide (their songs are in the cloud) and the sound from the speakers on the soundbar is quite good and powerful but maybe not powerful enough for a large room

Thanks for sharing. Since this product is a cloud-based solution, unlike those that have large storage to hold the video contents, did you encounter any downtime or service availability issues (such as slow connection) during your usage?

No problem... no, it ran very smoothly... no lags or buffering when accessing their song database.

Hard to tell. It seems u should connect the XLR outs to the mic in of the speakers and music source to the aux in. as for audio out , better refer to the manual to see if it is line or mic level outputs .

Actually the audio source can be plugged into the Coaxial or the Optical inputs as well right?

the aux, coaxial and optical is probably on the same mixer channel. so likely u can only switch between them.

the audio out of the mic receiver logically should be mic output, since it has no other input source. So if u have a separate mixer with 2 line level in, u can output to the aux in of the speaker.

Ps. Without seeing the manual this is just logical guess .

Do u mean that since the only input source for the mic receiver are mics so the audio out on it should be a mic out? But if u see this post by @theoryjack below... the audio in and audio out on his mic receiver are according to him normal audio in and out...

They are not the same product. Yours is a basic mic receiver. The audio out is definitely a mic output. On closer look it is a quarter inch jack, likely it is mic level output. Means u need to connect it to a mic input and not a aux input. otherwise it is very weak and noisy when the vol is up.

Ic... I'm thinking of getting a pair of active speakers that has only 3 types of inputs... they are optical, coaxial and RCA... will I be able to connect my mic receiver (ie. from XLR-out or mic-out) to any of them?

No, as I mentioned the signal is too weak to connect directly to a speaker without mic in. u need a mixer, or a speaker like Bose S1 pro with built-in mixer so that u can hook up ur karaoke music on aux in and mic receiver on mic In and listen to them together.

Ic... how about for a basic mic receiver that has 1/4 inch normal audio-out or RCA audio-out... can I connect it to a 3.5mm normal audio-in of a speaker? How about if it's the other way around... I connect from 3.5mm audio-out on the mic receiver to 1/4 inch audio-in or RCA audio-in of a speaker?

When connecting a basic mic receiver to a speaker... is it the type of input must be the same as the type of output ie. if it's from a mic-out on the mic receiver, it has to be plugged into a mic-in of the speaker?
