Gotten a HomePod.

It has been working great and nice so far. Used English US for Siri, thus needing to talk to Siri without broken and in full sentences.

Not really an audiophile, but the bass has been good and there’s clarity in the vocals.

I got mine today. Nice working with my ATV. Strong bass and clear vocals! Can’t wait for stereo capability..

I intend to get one from the US. Does Apple SG honour the warranty here?

Which power adapter you guys use? Where to get it? Can show how the actual plug looks like? Thanks :D

I’m currently using this adapter, bought from Challenger, and other similar adapter should work too:

(The other end is the U.K. plug, or the one similar to SG’s plug)

Plug in the US plug to the adapter, and the other end will be the U.K. plug which will be compatible for SG. So far there hasn’t been any issue and it works fine.

Regarding the warranty, I’m not too sure about whether they would support it fully as usually their practice is that they would send the parts in for servicing from overseas which the repair times would definitely increases. However, it is also unsure if the technicians here in SG are or have been trained to repair the HomePod.

Still not compatible with soundbars or other devices via Bluetooth?
Still only via AirPlay right?

Hopefully they will support Bluetooth playback from any app

It doesn’t have Bluetooth hardware so I don’t think it can support Bluetooth playback. Just play from your iOS device directly.

It’s audio quality is probably the best amongst smart speakers but on an absolute level it’s only as good as it can be for a small speaker.

That’s too bad. Just by putting in Bluetooth hardware to connect to external devices will elevate HomePod to another level.

It has the Bluetooth hardware, but it isn’t unlocked or for use as a Bluetooth speaker. The only way to ‘stream’ music over from your phone is to AirPlay via Wi-Fi or tell Siri to play music with an Apple Music subscription.

The Bluetooth is meant for setting up the HomePod and as a Home Hub for smart devices that only has Bluetooth. So this means you can control your devices (via the Internet) even though you are not at home or nearby.

Airplay uses the Wi-FI chip, not bluetooth AFAIK.

Really hope HomePod gets released here soon...
Reason of waiting for official launch here is so that I can buy from Apple Store and try out at home, and return it should I decide not to keep it..
