Tri-Fold Phone: a new trend!​

Foldable phones are quite trendy but it seems the world’s first tri-fold – the Mate XT has taken the trend to the next level. After Huawei, various tech makers like Honor, Samsung, and Xiaomi are ready to jump into the triple foldable pool.

Honor is said to bring a 10mm thick tri-fold, while Samsung is allegedly preparing a rollable-style device. Now Xiaomi is ready to step into this ground. How this trend becomes a battle among smartphone makers would be worth looking at.

I wonder those 1st time owners of V3, will ur next yr new phone be a fold too? lolol

First timer here, not really a "fold" enthusiast but appreciating the option to switch to bigger screen if needed. I think once used to larger screen quite hard to revert back to normal slab phone? Like now 6 inch screen considered standard for slab for last time is considered humongous. I still remember very first Samsung note 5.3 inch screen and people thought they siao

Hoping to use this phone for at least 2 years

wah, my aramid carbon case just came

so nice, thin and light but no hinge protection
and during demo w/o case, I didn't know the OE case got the kickstand etc...

now headache, stuck with a $50 case

Or anyone has a good recommendation for a slim kicker that can also hold unfold and fold?

hahahah ya the kick stand really is a + for this phone. can rest on table.. can grip to fingers.
the one I ordered from TB no stand, most likely I won use it when arrived... n already ordered a 2nd Carbon fibre with stand.

once you go fold..it;s hard to back to normal 1...i switch from s22U to fold 4..then i go fold 5...fold 6 then this ..dont want another 'normal' phone anymore.

becareful on the hinge...the durability test..hinge is the only part that easily dented.

once you go fold..it;s hard to back to normal 1...i switch from s22U to fold 4..then i go fold 5...fold 6 then this ..dont want another 'normal' phone anymore.

After using V3, I started dl games like genshin and other games I don't play...the xperience is really different from using bar phone. Developers should start making games fit for foldable....

I would say mlbb was a disappointment as the controller was located too near to the edge to play properly. But I also started spending less time on mlbb and dl games to explore on foldable

don't know when the stock in.

Not yet, when I collected the phone, she said the Stylus magic pen will send to us via local courier (with tracking number), estimated end of September 2024.

I used this case too, for 3 days, then switched back to original casing.
Issues:
1. NFC - I cant topup my son's ezlink, filled to detect. But Gpay works fine
2. Cant wireless charge
3. Front screen too dark.

Did you manage to resolve these? If I can resolve them, I will put it back on. All round coverage protection!!

I find the screen ok to use.
I only use GPay and I don't do wireless charging, so no issues so far for me.
