puteric recently also have few good promo ...
princess deluxe is about 48sgd wo breakfast nett ... price is good.
however walk to hotel need around 5min ...

stayed before many times in citrus, about 2min walk ...
their room quite small 16m2 ... better to take their club room 22m2 ...

Stayed in the orange 16m2 one, feel abit too small like hotel 81. I think next time i will say 22m2 at about $5sgd additional only

For a weekend escape, we took the public transport, with our hand carry bags, enduring the weekend crowd and long que, we finally reached JB.

Traditionally, we will endure abit more by queing to catch a bus or taxi to reach our desired hotel, reason being the price is affordable for at least a 4* good facilities hotel.

But for those who dont want to travel any further, after enduring the jam, looking for a place to relax, use the facilities and do some shopping and eating. A range of hotels to cater to everyone near the causeway. Ranging from cheap budget just for overnite sleep to affordable premium hotel to expensive ones for facilities, relax and comfort.

We found a new nice hotel thru agoda with good and premium facilities near causeway, that price is as good and comparable to the one further, and cheaper than the 5* hotel. After reading the comments and reviews, we decided to give a try. Just carry our bags and walk towards it to check in.

After the experience, we tell ourselves we will be back again! Its a 5 star ambience priced at 4 star room rates! The hotel's location is a plus point just across Komtar JBCC, beside City Square & short walk to Galleria Kotaraya.

Yup, htoel81 room size is about 12m2 ...
so the hotel room is slightly bigger ...
room size of 16m2, is about the size of century standard room ...

their deluxe club room is 22m2 ...
slightly bigger, with a small sofa sitting area ...
plus you can go to their level 11 to take free drinks at their club lounge ...

This is the street Jln Wong Ah Fook to cross, in a scene from early 2016, perhaps. The building under construction is the Amari. The building with the Tumi store is JBCC. If you care to move forward against the direction of traffic, you will come across City Square on your left, on the same side as JBCC. The road works along this stretch of Jln Wong Ah Fook has been completed. It is still a main road, although the number of lanes has been reduced to 3, and traffic is a lot less busy than before.

how about doubletree by hilton jb?
is it good? ulu anot??

Use the same google map link I gave. This time, turn the view around so that you follow the direction of the traffic. You will see a Shell station. The tower that says Menara Landmark is the DoubleTree Hilton now. If you are walking, you can follow the road, pass the Shell and turn left a little after the shophouse block. The Tropical Inn and voila, the DoubleTree.

Once you come out from the main entrance of JBCC Komtar, is the road. Just cross over and go inside the mini mall up the escalator, exit and on your left you see the entrance of the hotel. Usually you see the bell boy there.

Amari is just across the road opposite JBCC. Double Tree top is bit off especially for late night movie. That stretch of road is ulu and quite at night as there isn't many people walking around. The next building consists of many special clinic and opposite is Tropical Hotel. Good hotel but rather quite.

Doubletree is definitely good but 5* price. Amari JB price is as good as KSL price.

For the price of amari , i would of cox have chosen ksl ...
since ksl superior have bath tub ... 25m2
amari 27m2 superior no bath tub actually ...

KSL is just above the ksl mall, which is very accessible for families with elderly and young children ... amari hotel is just opposite komtar ... you need to cross over the road with no traffic light. not very recommend for families with elderly and children ...

If want to be near the checkpoint, I'd go for Amari instead of Double Tree, if you plan to walk back late at night.

I've been warned by staff from the latter to be careful when walking to City Square, the part after turning off the road in front of the hotel. And at that time, it wasn't even nightfall yet.

can use grab if possible ... quite cheap
however u need to have internet access though ...

If u want near to check point, then amari is better ...
if you want cheaper choice, can consider bagus, citrus ...

Depends on what individual prefer. For me i dont need bath tub, i jus need the gym and pool. Jbcc n citysquare got the shops and brand that i want, not like ksl. Eg. Brands outlet, padini, fos in citysq n jbcc bigger than ksl one, uniqlo, nonya cafe, tang si fu, dragon, lavenda, season, gloves, supermarrket kampilan jbcc and kota raya bigger one. More shops of my choice. Beside, its just across the road to jbcc, link bridge to citysq, still convenient. Beside if i m taking a 3days2nite, the 2 malls one stop shopping with some time slot for massage, movie, swim and gym will more or less cover my itenaries if i go back spore after lunch. And most importantly, 5* ambience priced at a 4* rate, why not?
