With insurance it’s like a bit complicated when it comes to employee benefit cos once I get employee benefit, insurance won’t pay out.If default to Medisave, then if claim insurance, very troublesome, right ? More work for insurance companies and more work for us to check whether insurance company return the money to medisave.
So let’s say I got $100 employee benefit
I see a doctor. It’s $100. Can be claimed by both employee benefit and insurance. Employee benefit comes first.
So now I got $0 dollar in benefit and insurance never pay out
Now I get sick again and need $100 in medical treatment. I can claim employee benefit but insurance never cover. So I have $0 in benefit and insurance is not paying so $100 out of pocket.
So sometimes I like to claim insurance rather than employee benefit cos insurance tend to have more things that are not covered so I try to “preserve” my employee benefit.
