it's true. For me ish 壹貳叁肆伍陸柒捌玖拾They say if you learn numbers or numeric in chinese, hindi or tamil, chances are that you're naturally better with numbers. It's something about how they sound, count and spell, even the number of syllables matter.
So that's why English or European speakers will be slightly worst off with simpler arithmetic at any age relative to some Asians.
Not even racist, just how linguistics affect numbers.
I think in english in my head, but when I count i naturally have it hard wired to do it in chinese and I think thats how i do it.
Long time ago before mobile phone, all the phone numbers i remember in my head. Now i cannot remember sh*t, sometimes i find it hard to recall what i had for lunch the previous day

My job involves numbers but not accountinglike phone number, ic number... do u visualize the numbers or use sound of pronunciation of the numbers?
moi memorize moi mother ic number using hokkien, so a bit hard to recall the number in english...
