Do you use the DNS on other wifi location as well? because if you do, then that's the issue.

Most DNS providers allow u to use on multiple locations however you need to update IP everytime you switch locations.

if not, your ISP might be changing your IP more frequent than usual but that's something very rare IMO.

You can try setting up the DNS on your router instead of the PS3 and see if it's better but note that the DNS will apply for all the devices in your network, not just the PS3.

thanks for reply. I'm only using the DNS on the PS3, nowhere else. I've even tried to set up a static IP address on the ps3, but not working. it's extremely frustrating to go to the ps3 Internet browser and update my IP address before netflix works.

I'll try setting the DNS on the router and see whether it works. thanks!

I guess you can also take note of the public IP address your household is getting.

If your PS3 have a web browser, visit What's My IP Address? - Obsolete Browser Page from it to see what's the IP address you are getting now and what it detects the next time u have the problem.

If it remains the same but you are still required to update every time, then it's more of an issue with your DNS provider, they must have detect some changes which not supposed to happen.

In my experience ISP don't always update the IP address, mine could take a few weeks/months before assigned a new IP.

If you are using Unotelly's Unodns then this shouldn't be an issue. If everything is going through your router then all Unotelly needs to know is your current IP address, so that they can mask it for you.

If your ISP here gives you a fixed IP then you only need to set it once, but if they keep juggling it then you need to update your IP with Unotelly so that they know they are supposed to mask it. :)

This is very easy though as they give you a special, personal browser link that you can bookmark. You don't need to type in any info, just click on the bookmarked link and everything is done automatically on their end.

You also don't need to use the PS browser - in fact any browser will do. You can bookmark the link in your iphone or ipad (just make sure they are connected to the same wifi router/network!!!) and then just use that to update quickly when required. All other devices will work instantly with Netflix.

You may want to mask your IP for security reason and not post it in public places.

I don't think you can do much if your ISP changes the IP that frequent on a Dynamic IP plan, my only advice is, sign up for an internet service with Static IP, i think MyRepublic provide such service.

Hi guys, while I have no problems setting up a new account with my HSBC card, it has proven problematic to switch payment methods (I am helping my boss setup his Netflix actually). So far we've tried switching the payment from HSBC to Citibank, Amex and DBS, all three don't work and I have seen variations of the same error message "We could not verify your payment details. Please confirm your information or contact your financial institution." Anyone has any ideas why this is so?

Technically you should be using a US card with a US billing address. You can buy some prepaid ones online.

A better solution is to NOT pay Netflix directly. The only way to do this is to get an Apple TV box and purchase some US iTunes cards. The Netflix monthly subscription will then be deducted from your iTunes balance.

Citibank VISA card seems to work for me. SG card with SG billing address.

I guess the problem is that he can't even get past the account creation page because of the error. Anyway, he hasn't updated me these past two days so I'm also unsure what's the status now...

i suspect a change of card could have led to the mess. why not continue using your card and ask him pay u cash yearly or monthly.

New modem-no more VPN

I have an Astrill router. Been working great for a long while.

Went into Starhub. Got an upgrade. Gave us a new modem. Astrill wont work.

Anyone had this happen and is there a fix.

To be clear, it's a router.

Can't you just setup a new account for the boss using his own details? and terminate yours if you don't intend to keep.

what's not clear is what won't work? the whole internet does not work, or the VPN service itself?
what are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?

Which model are the new modem and the astrill router?

What's the status in the router's admin page? - Astrill Setup Manual:Getting started with Astrill VPN Router - Astrill Wiki

Thank you for answering me.

The internet is working. The whole house internet is working...on the NEW modem/router. I cannot get the Astrill router ot work on anything but my Mac...and then it's pretty spotty. It will work for about 15 minutes and stop working.

NO OTHER COMPUTERS/ipads/phones/apple tv/nothing.

They will not log on to the Astrill network. We get an error message whenever we try.

So far I have tried disconnecting the router on the Cisco modem but I know so little about it that it didnt help. I totally disconnected the entire internet and had to do a hard reset.

What's the status in the router's admin page? I do not know what you are referring to. The Astrill router is currently disconnected.

If your Astrill VPN mode is UDP, try change to TCP. Perhaps the double-NAT'ing is spoiling things with UDP.

I believe you can switch the Starhub's DPC3925 wireless modem to bridge mode, if double NAT is the problem here.

Before I troubleshoot the VPN, I would troubleshoot the internet connectivity using the Astrill router first.

Cisco modem LAN -> Belkin WAN -> Belkin LAN -> computer via Ethernet and see if I get internet connectivity.

If yes, proceed to troubleshoot the VPN connectivity.
