Maybe do in stages.

Eg tidy up. Put the things don't use into a box. The things you use put in drawers and cupboards.

Boxes filled cover up. Store away store room or somewhere.

Then after kitchen tidy already then the boxes you have is kitchen seldom use stuff. Then maybe 3 months later if never needed to take anything from the boxes. Just wholesale throw the boxes. Do not open the boxes to look see again. Just throw.
Noted....
Oh yeah, the storage room.....darn..that room need to throw many things too...

Is ok. You are you. Who you are. Accept it.
It is the memories that are more important than the physical thing. Hold on the the memories. Not the physical manifestations
Yes bro, the memories, I hv hard time throwing away .

I tell myself that when I die I can take NONE of things with me. And I won't care anymore.

So if things no use has no monetary value then throw is ok.

If really need to use can buy again

You cannot throw away memories. Separate what is memory what is just a physical object.

Some things can still use one keep. Those no use then throw. photos can be digitized. Videos too.
Take photos of the things. Can open photo and look at it. Or videos reminisce

Guys,

Can share how you do it?
Especially if a person like me has attachment, hard to throw away things not use for months..
i realise its hard to do without enough space. i'm also in a delimma. now i just shift items fr one place to another lesser used place or more obscure space in the house. its no difference fr dumping but in same house!
but i realise if u hv a space like an attic eg your kitchen top cabinet, wardrobe top cabinet. some sample show flats i saw have built up wooden protruding wall shelves at top of walls in living rooms like this one.

Decoist-com-Shelves-that-surround-the-top-of-the-kitchen-ceiling.jpg

but sadly you cant cram it with too heavy stuff. it'll collapse unless you hv strong support from bottom which will look eyesore. i intent to try fixing one in somewhere remote corner of house.
but if the shelves r not covered or close, it'll collect dust then you'll hv headaches ltr.

Idk also. I need alot of time to make peace with the item before I give away. I'll clean up the item before i throw away. Its weird but thats what i do to make it easier for me to discard the item.

I set a rule first and foremost is no personal items in the common areas. Letters, specs, etc.

This will make the room clutttered. When rooms get cluttered, you will clear it because you spend most time in the room.

Secondly is take note of things you have duplicates. Like, I had like 10 PSU 3 pin cables. Do I need all? I threw 7 away.

Anything that I last wanted to throw but decided to keep and this time comes into mind to throw, means can throw liao.

User manuals etc, please, everything is online now, google will find you more information than the manuals.

Hardware like TV Legs etc... I still keep. 12 chinese zodiac door stickers I keep and reuse every 12 years. Save $.

Anything can't bear to throw, keep into storeroom, next cycle auto will throw.

Ikea storage boxes and shelf racks

Don't wanna throw? Nvm.

Just place them nicely in the boxes and stack them into the shelf racks.
