I enquired using live chat. Put me on hold for 25 min then told me I am enrolled for Jan. I told her your system updated wrongly please check the date my SMS was received and request relevant team to correct it. Her reply "Based on the system there is no error on our end". Ask me to call hotline.

Hotline checked that SMS was received in Dec and none in Jan and confirmed I am enrolled in Dec cycle.

I guess I met a useless live agent. Next time will just call hotline.

Hokay.

Live chat agent, hotline CSO and their duty mgr, Service mgr, RM, plus the authoritative product team need to be on the same page.

And today is already Friday...

Yes! Finally, some banker emailed me and sent me the premier withdrawal form.

Also clarified that I'm still eligible for the BTL promo despite the downgrading.

Did you receive any sort of notification from HSBC to confirm that the premier status has been withdrawn after that?

I registered for Dec cycle by sending SMS in Dec. Received SMS acknowledgement immediately.

But yesterday 9 Jan HSBC mobile app sent push notification :

You're now registered for the Jan EGA Bonus Interest Promo for all EGA under your name. Top up fresh funds to enjoy.

🤔

What a mess.
Perhaps you might have accidentally clicked on the registration button in the HSBC mobile app?

Don't think so.

How does it work ? Just click once and no second button like submit to click ?

Register by SMS will receive an acknowledgement in SMS. If register by app how they acknowledge ?

Also usually if I register by SMS in Dec cycle (Dec to Jan) and then register again by SMS in Jan, the SMS acknowledgement will say something like cannot register if already registered for Dec cycle.

Cannot be registering by app in Jan will override SMS registration in Dec right ? But then it is HSBC, anything can happen 😏

I did not go thru the registration via HSBC mobile app but I briefly saw some notification with a button to register for the Jan EGA after login and it is really easy to accidentally click on the button. I"m not sure if there is a second button to confirm the registration. Not saying registering in app will override the earlier Dec regisration, but HSBC might just be using a generic acknowledgement template.

nope, not yet. but I'll monitor via the app itself (see my own status under login/profile).

but I already have email trace to ensure that I have done my due diligence to downgrade, so they cannot charge me fees for not meeting TRB of $200k this month onwards.

Don't know when they will inform but they might charge fees for failing to meet TRB, that's why people want to be proactive before HSBC start charging fees.

they started sending emails a couple months back that they will now only accept 200k TRB every month which hardly anyone does so as to retain premier status

"f the Total Relationship Balance falls below S$200,000, and no other qualifying HSBC Premier account is maintained outside of Singapore, a monthly service fee of S$50 will be charged."

There was an email from HSBC dated 2 Dec 2024 titled "Important notice on revised terms and conditions for HSBC Premier Clients" effective 1st Jan 2025. Check your mailbox.
