The Froyo "MAY" or may not come with latest Sense UI

I always take info without source with a pinch of salt But anyway I find our rooted Froyo (also thanks to you ) to be very good already, so don't really care whether the official will come or not

lol foo sounds like a secret agent. but what u mean by new sense UI? sense UI got update? lol i've been googling cyanogen and custom roms for my legend more then the original stuff for it. how disappointed with htc.

Ya correct, just take info as a "rough estimation" will do...I believe HTC themselve cannot be sure when Froyo will be officially available as well

Indeed the unofficial Froyo is very good on our phone already, we do not really need to be so concern about the official Froyo anymore

You are doing the right thing, by sourcing other Froyo ROM for Legend....

Actually don't feel dissappointed with HTC, they are doing a very good job too


Just look at the newly modified version of Android V2.2 Froyo on Desire Z & Desire HD, they have done a successfully good in able to bootup & shutdown the operating system just within 5 seconds, it works just like "Hibernate"

alright, i totally agree that they make good phones, the idea of 'cold boot' (5 sec start up) is cool, and the htcsense.com thingy is a darn good idea. the bad thing is, they release froyo for desire first, and not legend. legend being the first to launch compared to desire, don't get it first is so lame. maybe froyo requires powerful phones, which legend is not, thats why they are modifying things for legend. well, if thats the case, maybe i can forgive them. LOL.

Some tips for root users!

Few days back, I posted something about deleting system apps (those not very useful and safe to delete, such as: FileManager - I use EStrongs, CMStats - rubbish , CMWallpapers, Music - substitute with PowerAMP, Calculator - substitute with RealCalc, etc).

A little bit repeating here:

Also few days ago, bro foosoomin posted some Mods created by blay0 at XDA dev forum which may enable full read and write access to system overlay (again not S-OFF) >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773278

I have tried the mods and found that by enabling full read write access, we can directly uninstall system apps from GUI (rather than going into recovery mode and issuing adb commands as per Modaco tutorial).

So just now I flashed nightly v33, enable the system overlay, and trim down (uninstall) system apps from Titanium Backup (I guess can be done from settings/manage applications too). So comfortable!

Another advantages of enabling system overlay, I can now install and use Adfree which removes most of the Ads from my Legend (i.e. ads in Appbrain) - before that Adfree will cause boot loop in my phone.

@Vismark, I'm assuming that your phone is not rooted, because unroot Legend runs 2.1 Android, and Angry Bird is a 2.2 game.

Actually Angry Birds works on 1.6 onwards. The reason Vismark is not seeing it in market is due to other factors.

Vismark, I have 1 suggestion, maybe you can try to install Appbrain + Fast Web Install. Run both apps and search for Angry Birds from www.appbrain.com and sync from your phone. By right, if no compatibility issue the game should install perfectly on your Legend (I have done this many times last time for those apps that we couldn't "see").

Let me know again the results

install appbrain and fastweb.
run appbrain, log in with ur google account.
run fastweb, enable it.
then go to appbrain website on ur computer, go to angry birds.
click the install button at the top left.
it should auto install to ur phone.
