Hi, I just got my phone yesterday, i signed up for a data plan (previously ioneplus), how can i know if my new plan has already started. im afraid if there is extra charge for 3g if it is not activated yet. sorry noob here.

hi, i got my legend 3 days ago, did a full charge, played with it and after my 2nd charge i got a shock...

after i charge till 100% at around midnight, i plug out everything and left it on standby, next morning at 8am, i woke up and found the battery down to 70% !!! The battery usage was:

cell standby 58% - phone idle 33% - display 9%

i have nothing on (no bluetooth, gps, wifi), i only have the mobile broadband. i have no facebook, twitter, talk or mail sync turned on. only the weather widget is on.

i went down to HTC support, called HTC custcare, and all of them claims this is 'normal', and the best way to conserve is off everything (even broadband) if i do not need it.... com'on why get a smartphone if i off everything...

HTC support offered to change my set (which she claims is new), but i never bring receipt so i will try on monday. I went sIngtel shop at night and they changed the battery for me (now i am charging for 8 hrs before i try again). Hope i would get a better experience tomm.

anyone has such bad experience ? is this normal ? all the nexus/hero guys tell me they can use 1 to 1.5 days even with calls and network activity.

was your 2nd charge using USB charging via computer?
If it is, usually it is not as accurate as using normal power point charging. USB charging may show full charge but physically it will not be at full charge and drain off quite quickly.

You could call up the telco.
That's what I did to the telco M1, to make sure no heavy charge of the data service incurred.

I've just found out the method yesterday.
At the screen where you type the sms, press the menu button, change it at the settings.

Sure have. Use the app 'Netcounter'by Cyril Jaquier. You can search for it in android market.

Something strange while I was using Legend. I notice that if you cover the optical touch pad at the bottom. The screen tends to be more sensitive.

A simple test will be to go into your "people" flick up and down the name list. Do it normally like you do and then try to cover the optical touchpad with 1 finger and then do it again. For me, the screen suddenly becomes more responsive, a very gentle short flick of the fingers will be enough to scroll the name. Once you remove the finger at the bottom, everything is back to "normal". The same sensitive test also works when the phone is plugged into the charger. Wonder if it's just my legend or it's the same with you guys.

Also is it true that when the battery falls to a certain level..the device will go into "power saving mode" by slowing down the processor and reduce screen sensitivity or things like that??

blaaa supposed to get the phone today. didnt realise the contract under my mom's name. so transfer ownership, takes 3 working days. so cant recontract yet.
