anyone installed Compass by Snaptic on ur legend? will it keep prompting you to calibrate your phone saying abnormal magnetic field detected? or with compass mode on google map stree view, it don't respond until u few tries later?

Just got my legend yesterday and was pretty happy with it... until when I just tried logging to online...

i had this page: "You are accessing a page protected by ufinity rightaccess 4.5 Please login." Anyone with the same issue? I have no problem trying to sync to my gmail account, watching youtube videos, accessing twitter and facebook... I am using wifi in my house and even if the signal drop i do havbe data plan as back up... (even if this no signal, there shld be another error message and not this I believe) Anyone there to help?

most likely it is using ur data instead of ur wifi for connection
and, likely ur apn is not set correctly.
try switching off ur data and try using ur wifi. able to login?
then do it the other way. if can't surf with data.. contact ur serrvice provider for a correct set of apn

Thanks for your prompt reply... I tried both and is not able to connect with the same error page popping up. Using Starhub by the way... and yup, I have called the starhub people up and they told me their technical team will be getting back to me within 48 hours and I do hope they will be (+ not in the middle of the night which I seen some of our friends here do... fingers crossed...)

You only see that page if you are trying to access a Starhub website with a non-proxied Starhub connection. You should use the shwap connection with the proxy value to access the site.

For all other internet connections, use the shwapint connection which isn't in the post above, but u can find it easily online.

imho it isn't exactly a case of which is "better"....more a case of which form factor you prefer.

Also, Legend has the Sense UI interface, which makes things a little easier for the beginner.

might be easier to help you if you list the your parameters for comparison ie what features are important to you?

just ranting here. sorry to OT but i'm damn pissed my friend thinks htc/motorola and all other android phones are ****, compared to iphone. gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cant stand ignorant people that follow trends and hype just because its apple

ok, back to my batt thread, i experiment on the battery consumption with various durations and here is what i got. for pple who are bored, can read on...


1st full charge

1) Did a hardware reset, it stayed at 100% for nearly 4 hours

2) Customised the phone and downloaded some apps from market. Weather, google sync, location turned on (no GPS, wifi, bluetooth and all that jazz) - dropped till 91% for like 20mins of usage (7 mb of traffic)

3) Standby with no sms/phone calls and other activity for 3 hr 47mins, dropped by another 6%

4) Turn off weather, standby for 5 hrs 27 mins, dropped by another 7%

At this point before i Zzzz, only google account has auto sync, no more location and other jazz. the phone was at 57%. So far so good.

5) Woke up 8 hrs 31 mins later, batt dropped from 57% to 36%. It dipped 21% ! my... 8 hours of nothing and it dropped so fast than yesterday

6) Disabled all auto sync of accounts, usage was like 9% for 3 hrs 48 mins of standby, surprisingly, sysmon shows data being transferred.

Doing a 2nd charge now, will continue to track the batt consumption. If i average the timing, every 25 to 30 mins of standby, the legend batt will dip 1%.

Question: do u guys think i got a spoilt phone ? or all this standby sucking up battery is normal ?
