I would say it's the after-sales service that is having the problem.
Other than the loose button all seems pretty good so far.

Anyway, for those who can't get their set exchanged or fixed; here's what you can do to prevent 'loose-ing' your button, especially the home button.

Whenever you wanna press on the buttons, press it close to the red circles since it's the closest to the contact point.

This loose button problem happens even when the first time you got your hands on the phone or is it only after some usage? It seems like it only happens to some people and not everyone, weird.

The very first set was within a day I got the phone, the 'home' & 'back / search' button came loose, the second was already loose when I got the phone, third set, they gave me back my first set, fouth set was ok, but dead pixel. fifth set starting to loose already.

Legend have an OTA update today. Mine is now 1.31.707.3

I had mine updated on Sunday, when I power on the phone, I was asked to update.

This is a known issue for some users, go download sound manager from android market, should solve the issue.

There is a pushcart store at Funan level 1 which sells it, but the quality isn't that good. Its located near Ya Kun.

got the legend 2 wks ago... have the following problems. some were mentioned by others...

- sms vibrate mode not working even set to "ON"
I reset to factory setting and problem solved. i had to do hard reset on a new phone...lol

- sometimes type on keyboard (sms, email, etc) nothing shows up. no characters, letters, nish. getting more and more freq. can be very frustrating when u wanna sms/reply fast! u'll have to wait for a min or so before the character shows up! @#$!%$

- when set to silent with vibrate mode, some times if u reboot the phone, it will vibrate and boot up the phone... BUT some times it STILL play the HTC melody which is very loud! WTF? set to vibrate it still sounded! buggy OS/SENSE?

Now the worst problem - the reception.
- WIFI is utterly weak. full bars on my iphone. 1 or at best 2 bars on legend...drops at times.

- 3G/HSPA is erratic... encountered several times where sms can't send out on the spot even with full reception. have to auto retry couple of times to send out... Net surfing is a pain when u are in the zone where it cant decide to go 2g or 3G or 3.5G(HSPA)... reception shows 2 to full bars of 3g/HSPA signal... and it still couldn't load the page. WTF??
heats up the phone and drains the batt like no tomorrow! (tip: if u turn ur phone upside down, ur reception is better! why? coz the designer decided to put the wifi attenna on top of the phone and the RF below where your palm covers it while in use!) ya, i know...coz the alu unibody will mess with the RF blah blah blah.... still, i would think the wifi and rf should switch place.

from my experience, this sexy and solid looking legend is a huge disappointment in terms of basic smartphone performance.

and the OS - Android 2.1. it has potential, but it's light years away from iphone OS in terms of stability and refinement. my almost 2yr old jb iphone 3g is more stable than the legend in all aspects!

now, who wants a legend? :s13:

edit: btw, the optical track mouse is a total failure...:s13:

I do not have so many problems like yours before, epecially the keyboard problem and the HTC melody on bootup problem. Maybe your set is really faulty. And so far the only reception problem i encounter is only when i'm in the EW MRT tunnel.

Btw the Android OS is relatively new compared to the Iphone OS, look at how many generations the Iphone is already in.

i got the loose home button on the left side of the button, but after 2 weeks I am hardly bothered.. small issue compared to the exchange and waiting time without a phone.

yeah i think it is a common issue for most legend user but doesnt stop us still going towards legend and of cause its OS.it is still a very remarkable phone to be holding.been 2 weeks already and it still suprise me with the OS it has (first smart phone for me)....

linking photo to facebook so people call ya you will see their photo..apps for it is finally getting better.very very easy to personnalise to your style. all the tiny things are very well thought off which makes it really a pleasent phone to use.totally quietly brilliant.

just got my sennheiser cx500(this earphone ROCKS like hell)...my matt SP on and my capdase case arrive and covered...it is all good to go.hell yeah...

Only faces the same sms vibration problem, as for the power on, I had it once before. I believed its the apps that we installed (according to other forum), especially when i installed the app 'shape writer'.

Keyboard and reception all ok for me.

Trackpad too sensitive?

my legend is performing very well >.> i think it's a "heng sway" issue

Yes I totally agreed

I am getting to the loose button now.
