both are impossible with the original stock firmware. but for the message, you can try downloading chompsms or handcent from the market. it's a form of messaging application where one of the features is lighting up the screen when a message has been sent to your phone as you wanted it.

Oh..okay,thanks for the reply.
I thought there is some program or what which can change the setting of it.

Guys,

I just found my CPU clock speed, written below

in folder: /sys/acpuclock/acpuclk_tbl

Value: 245760, 480000, 600000

Can anyone explain, how the 1st & 2nd value works ? Is the 1st value in blank screen mode ? What about 2nd value ?

Will be waiting for anyone reply

That would be a waste of a button just for one function. Even the search button also got different uses in different apps/

hi there,

I tried it & successfully rooted the phone. I'm using the cynaogen 6 rom, which is running Froyo...But this ROM does not have the Market apps, i'm finding ways to install this apps seperately. So, i have submitted questions in xda forum, waiting for an answer

It is very easy to root the phone, all you need to do is follow the below tutorial

Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=746454
Read Post #80 at page 8, the tutorial are more precise. That threadstarter did not write a good explanation

Goldcard stuff is to bypass some security check, when you're trying to hack it

Rooted android os & non-rooted android os A LOT of differences. Rooted OS can flash custom ROM as you wish, can do recovery of ROM, overwrite default settings, can install applications on external memory card etc etc etc...overall very good

You can even overclock the CPU to faster speed

In overall, if you want to root androis os phone, make sure you read the tutorial several times, understand it, then root

dear forumers,

I have just rooted my Legend & tried cyanogen custom rom. However, i noticed that some applications are missing, as stated below

1) Market
2) QuickOffice
3) PDF Reader

I would like to ask, where can i download & install these apps ?

Will be waiting for anyone reply
if im not wrong, you will have to google for ' gapps' aka google apps something like that. then you will need to flash it to your phone. it's just like rooting, just that you do not need to do a wipe. hope someone out there could explain it clearly
