My 1st impression on V29 Nightly Build

1) So far did not encounter the problem faced by "poison"

2) Encountered problem while trying to record video in Whatsapp since V8, 24, 26 & 29, it was forced closed too

3) Rockplayer cannot play video, it was forced closed, even in V24 & V26

4) Overclocking to 806Mhz no problem

i've been wondering how u manage to whack it to 806 mhz? i can whack it to 806, but when i go to setcpu app and pull the slider to the max (which is the 806 mhz)
, my phone will hang there, and a removal of battery is needed. since we are both using v26 rom, same phone, whats the issue here?is it something to do with memory card? mine is a 8gb sandisk.

I just normal install the overclock 806mhz kernel, boot up the phone & then use it normally, without installing setcpu application

You have to understand one thing, the 806mhz overclock kernel already has it's own setting by default, then you go use setcpu do another setting again, basically it's conflicting mah......

Overall, go uninstall the setcpu app & just use the 806mhz kernel can already

oh, is it? lol i didn't reseach on that. i thought we need the setcpu to force out the 806mhz. then why dun u try thr 84x mhz? its the highest available from dumfuq right?

but then again, without the setcpu to tell u that you are running at what mhz now, how u know u r really running the full potential of the 806mhz? thru bench marking?

Hmm, actually bro the bolded part may not be true. SetCPU doesn't conflict with the kernel, it just enable some more settings/profiles that user want to make (i.e. if temp goes beyond xxx set cpu freq to xxx, battery goes below how many % lower down the freq to xxx, etc).

Btw I also read somewhere in XDA thread that actually SetCPU in a way can help to safeguard our phone because when you just install new kernel, it will keep the freq lower until you move the slide up to higher freq (i am not very sure regarding this one, need to be tested) :s22:

Just for our info =:p

edit:
Btw again I just tried 2 new ROMs to confirm that my Legend can't be overclocked :(
1) Juicy's ROM with integrated 768 MHz kernel based on nightly 26 - crash and reboot at the beginning (when typing gmail address)
2) Nightly build 29 flashed with 768 MHz, managed to run 1 Quadrant to get score above 1.1k something then auto crash/reboot

Now time to restore my nandroid backup and sleep!

Lol!

Reply to poison & fatthumb,

I tried 844Mhz, but unstable, due to some program crashed, don't start. jammed etc etc etc....

However, i'm able to use 824Mhz......my benchmark result is 1144

I've flashed v30 for fun, not much improvement in terms of quadrant score. So back to my v26 backup (again)....

my quadrant scores got 1065 with 768 mhz with that ROM...

Your phone is good, able to hit above 1000 on that Spanish Superfroyo ROM.

Mine only hit 844 on 806Mhz

Nightly Build suits my phone better

Bro, not every phone have the same OC capability. For example, mine not even stable @768 MHz :(:( It doesn't have anything to do with the ROM.

yeah weird, we are using the same legend, but we don't have the same specs after rooting. how can it be? different batch got different specs that we won't be able to tell?

each cpu got different tolerance level for overclocking. same as desktop overclocking
