Hi, I just bought the U11 but I can't find google assistant... Anyone able to find it?
I thought that the baked in Google is supposed to be Google Assistant, but it looks very much to be Google Now.. Not sure if it's region specific or what but it is able to help me set events, reminders etc so I thought it's already Google Assistant
To enable assistant you have to change your language to English (US)

Sent from HTC U11 using GAGT

Oh.. I've changed both google voice and search language to English US it it still looks like google now. Anywhere else I should change?

Edit: nvm, figured it out. I had to change the language under Language and Keyboard and clear app data for Google app. Thanks for the tip, google assistant is living in my phone now!

You better off with OnePlus/Nexus/Pixel. What the point buy U11 and flash custom rom?

You losses the feature of U11.

Haha, no la. just curious ma cause i thought people go for the freedom of android. Used HTC last time and love flashing custom roms and kernels.

But what feature loss are you talking about when you flash custom rom?

Anyway, thought this is quite cool so just sharing!
Youtube link not working so i am just gonna leave it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blCyCoq2t_U

Dont quite get what you mean.. you mean if you root and flash custom roms, edge sense don't work?

I believe if the rom is based on HTC Sense stock rom, the squeeze feature should be available. Right now there is no AOSP rom.

And all features of the phone will need drivers to work... I dont recall squeeze being available yet (for custom romming etc)

Yup that is what i believe too. Anyway just for those who have their HTC U11, can try out this google app for more customization. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twia.howard.edgemore

Edit: BTW, is there any settings in HTC sense currently that allows you to double tap fingerprint sensor to sleep the phone?

Squeeze feature available on custom rom based on stock HTC sense firmware.

There is no AOSP or Lineage based custom rom yet.

I am on Leedroid rom from xda. Squeeze works. It has the double tap on fingerprint sensor to sleep too.

Nice features. Can it swap navigation keys?
