I felt u bro. It happened to me during my days with M7. Their service center was still located @ Habour Front back then. 4 repairs due to gaps and purple tint and 2 exchange due to faulty sets. All these incidents happened within a year. Their service wasn't up to basic expectation either. I switched to Sony after a year with HTC.

BTW it seems most companies are unable to provide decent after sales services in SG.

Yup, our lemon law is so weak and the post sales service is lacking, especially if you compare to US.

Nevertheless, certain brands do perform a little better than others in SG.
From personal experience:

Fruity:
-iphone 6
-top of pack
-extremely expensive
-easiest to request 1 for 1 exchange provided you meet criteria
-2-3 work days for replacement
-used for 1 month, proven auto shut down, inconsistent battery

Sammy:
-S7 edge
-second
-almost as expensive^
-with concierge, quite easy if meet criteria (i was rejected on 1st request but i countered that I bought concierge and it is a valid tech fault)
(not sure how is it without concierge)
-on the spot exchange
-used for 3 days, proven extremely long wireless charging time

Nokia:
-I think its Lumia 950 (aka icon) 3years ago
-the service centre dude is darn attitude
-but they did 1 for 1 within a week without me doing anything further
-waited for 1 week
-used for 2 weeks, proven poor screen installation flaw

HTC:
-U11
-Poor communication between helpchat, call centre and service centre
-took almost 2 whole weak for 1 for 1 exchange (how can we be left without a proper phone nowadays and we are looking at a flagship model)
-with coaxing via call & social media (FB)
-used for 2.5 days, auto shutdown & power on issue

ASUS:
-Transformer phone (the one that can insert onto tablet), 4 years ago?
-the service center outright play with words and trickery and wasted my time and leaves
-took me almost 5 months for a 1 to 1 exchange after I consistently blasted their FB and CS email in both English and Chinese
-used for 5 days, found installation flaw with tablet screen

The ASUS one is a freaking nightmare!

I had used one m8, butterfly S and was happy and impressed.
Not so much with desire eye and felt that htc had lost track with herself.
Skipped the sucky m9 and questionable m10 and finally hoped onto U11!

Yes, the UI/ htc sense and bezel felt yesterday but the speaker is awesome and the squeeze is actually fun and quite useful. Camera is as awesome as S8plus's. Both have the fastest auto focus tech on phone camera. Imaging wise, Difference is that sammy' post processing is more brutal, color is more natural and OIS is more effective while htc had more pop to the image color out of the box, more natural low light shots and better selfie.
U11's battery is efficient, just that the capacity is a little on the lower end.
All' good for U11?
Sigh... the customer support/post sale is baddddd....

I bought my silver model on the 5th of August, and its faulty.
5 major auto shut down within the next 2.5 days. Why major? Once it shut down, you can't power on by pressing and holding power and it ignores charging.
However I managed to get to the root menu via 20sec hold on power + volume down and chose reboot.
Within the 2.5 days, I had factory reseted twice but it's still auto shutting down.

So I reported to online help chat who ding donged me to hotline who ding donged me to service centre with no clear resolution. This 3 channel do not or are really bad at communicating with each other which makes the whole scenario quite frustrating.
So I went down to the service centre who informed me in 8 hours that I can do a 1to 1 exchange. Great!
But I have to wait for their stock.
Ok, but I need my phone but still fair enough.
Silent for 2 days, so I called their hotline on the 3rd.
They have no idea that the service centre had agreed to change the faulty set.
Silent for another 3 days so I called on the 7th day
They still have no idea on what is promised so I can't even ask when will I get my replacement set....
They called on the 8th day to tell me that they will exchange 1for 1 (which was the outcome 8 days ago)....
So when can I have my flagship phone that I need for my proper daily life usage?
'We will update you again by the end of the week'

What? Really? I have to wait for another week for status update and not get my phone?
We are now at 1.5 weeks.... (15th August 2017)

Seriously, HTC... no wonder you're losing customers... and this is a revelation coming from a htc fan.
Sheesh, I wonder when can I get my phone.
Let me update again.

Got my replacement U11 set last Friday, 18 Aug 2017, after almost 2 weeks of waiting and some FB feedback.

Had been using the new setfor the past 5 days and found:

-Great speaker (HTC's forte)
-Great camera (on par with S8+'s, win some, lose some. Overall selling point is that u11's photos come out with more POP unedited)
-Great battery but wishes for more capacity (If U11 is at 3500 like s8+, it should outlast)
-Buttery Smooth UI (more so than S8+ and on par with iphone 7)
-Highly customized theme with various aspect (like specific wallpapers, or font or icon) under 1 user friendly setting page
-Edge sense or the Squeeze function is very useful and addictive
(those reviews that claimed that this is gimmicky just meant that they did not bother to try or test at all, shame...)
-Great fingerprint reader (faster than s8+)
-a monster specc-ed flagship with very competitive pricing
(imo, This is the quality and price point that one plus should strive)
-Stunning back, my 4 year old went: Wa Papa, this phone heng li hai!
LOL

Some cons are,
-HTC's sense UI's design and quality of life options feels dated
-last gen screen to set ratio (aka bezel)
-SD card issue (it forces you to reformat before it can work, tried 2 which both works on other phones and pc)
-it can get a little warm (just a little) on heavy usage (S8+ & iPhone7 do not get warm at all for my style of usage and I do not game on phones)
-somehow I am unable to feel the power of the 50% more RAM (6GB)
(maybe gamers can feel the difference but I do not game on phones)

The U11 is a great phone!
I hope it can help HTC pull through this tough period and rebuild the brand confidence

WOW thx for the detailed reviews. Currently using S7 for about 1.5 years and I am quite satisfy with its quality and camera performance. Still considering which phone to get next at the moment (U11, S8, Note 8). To me, U11 is almost perfect aside from missing 3.5mm jack, its build quality and poor customer service in SG. I am really disappointing with HTC SG back then. Not sure whether to give them another chance or not.

The galaxy series improved leap and bound since s6. I agree that the line is good. Though I'm quite disappointed with the note 8 reveal last night.
They are going fruit mode,is that, increase price and no longer innovate(note 8 brought nothing new at all) They are playing it way too safe (although I can see why after the note 7 recall).

U11 wise, imo, the phone rocks with its spec, price, design, squeeze and focus on hdr photography on top of introducing dual pixel auto focus. And the battery is surprisingly good.
The build quality is decent enough actually.
It's worth it!
Although you have to deal with the lesser customer service if you chance upon the rare hardware issue.
And the uncertainty if the company can survive long enough to support the phone XD

Not trolling as this came across my mind when I was considering then.
Action speaks louder than words though as I am a proud U11 owner.

Although HTC had yet to turn over profit in their latest finance report while they did improve from the last one. Google is still backing HTC by having them manufacture pixel2 so they will last.
And with U11, they are headed towards a good direction. Now, they will need our, the consumers' help and support

the selfie camera not very good right?

It's better than iPhone7's, s8th+'s and G6's ( I have access to those 3 phones) as of current of software, ver1.13.

S8+'s is too processed, on first look or via a glance, it might look better, give it a second look and it's like water painting.
G6's is worse on the water painting part (lg phones had always suck on selfie)
I7's is more real but it rarely appeals...

U11's processing is less aggressive on the de-noise portion so you'll see more noise (some people find this unacceptable) but its more natural and more detailed. Comes with a balance amount of POP too to appeal imo (who does a little photography during leisure time with m43)

Go check out OPPO if you're into selfies.
My sis is into it and her OPPO R9 serves her very well
