Slightly over 1k in sgd. What's sot?
Down side is warranty may not be applicable.

SOT is screen on time. normal under power consumption portion can view. it is normally under battery usage> screen > time on

Screen visibility is pretty good. For max brightness, you have to turn off the battery saver option to achieve that, which I forgot to. SOT is 6 hours with battery level at 50%.

Maybe HTC announced U12 then

Probably that might appeal to existing users of older HTC units such as those running MediaTek SoC inside (One A9 and earlier models) to consider upgrading to... SD 845 would have more potential running on compatible laptops than smartphones for a start due to the heavier emphasis on its enhanced AI Functions (probably as a counter to HiSense Kirin 970)...

By the time it comes, it's MWC 2018 and no one will care about 2017 flagships!

And then Samsung says: Come look at our Nougat OS-equipped new phones, Galaxy A8 and A8+!! (Oops! Did I hear that right? Android 7.1.2 in a 2018 Phone???)

SD845 does have more potential for security due the implentation of 'Secure Processing Unit (SPU) isolated subsystem' which could improve security if done correctly might even drive block chain authentication solution on edge devices for IoT services if this same design is tickle down to it mid to low range SoC.

Honestly, HTC service centre is absolutely horrible. Just went to service my HTC U11 a while back due to display issues. The repair was planned to take 3-5 working days but ended up being 2 weeks. Customer service did not update me on progress of repair, and no loaner device was provided. Overall, their service leaves a lot to be desired, and I recommend u stay away if possible hahaha.

Anyone has any experience with HTC Service Center recently?

Thanks.

I am waiting for HTC U11 Plus but I am not sure if their after sales service has improved.

Pretty terrible. Similar to the other guy, they told me 3-5 working days and it took 2 weeks. Person at the counter was pretty unprofessional and seems really bored. Had to keep calling in.

If it is still the same service level as before, I may reconsider if I want to wait for HTC U11 Plus.

No. The Xiaomi guy is far more experienced and engaging. Overheard their repair time is around 1-3 days only.

Probably because the larger number of Xiaomi units in circulation here (for PRC-born people as well as budget-tight locals) means a higher demand for compatible spare parts, which could translate (in some ways) to a higher device repair turnaround.

Such is the melancholy of Smartphones sold in SG nowadays, either mass-market design but slightly better hardware service due to parts availability, or niche-level units with less-than-ideal service (again as written by users earlier is due to long turnaround times which might likely caused by lack of working spare parts that needs to be imported to get it fixed, like what happened to ASUS's Zenpad Series before in my case, long-waiting and expensive enough to get a brand-new replacement for a couple of dollars more). Probably the "perfect device" in our eyes is likely as simple as having the properly-designed device and interface coupled with service to get your broken device up and running as quickly as possible (best of both worlds), simple as that.

Also, I won't be shocked if the service centre standards HTC has been perceived (by users here that genuinely needs beefing up on their side) has already been replicated in Service Centres for HMG Nokia, Google as well as Razer (as they are specialized device makers unlike those of Lenovo Motorola, LG, Sony, ASUS and Neffos), not withstanding that HTC only has manufacturing facilities in ONE SINGLE CITY to serve global needs, in none other than Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Totally horrible experience for me too. I sent in my u11 for battery problem. But they created another problem with the camera in the process of fixing the battery. Then they messed up edge sense while fixing the battery, whereby it will trigger under the lightest of touches. Now back in the svc ctr for the third time and they've held on to it for almost a month alr when they told me only 3 to 5 working days. I loved my U11 and my previous HTC phone (m8 and 10), but this is really disappointing service and qc and for that I cannot and will not recommend anyone to buy HTC phone
