thanks for directing, I was hoping for a more comprehensive on huahin..

intend to spend like 3/4N at nights,
read that bus is recommended, from airport directly.

what about commuting in huahin, is it recommended to drive or just take taxi instead?

If I were to go back there, I will drive.

any special reason?

the last time I went to Phuket, I actually ride but being a poor rider, I had bad experience with those rental companies.
i don't have a bike license too..

Hua Hin is quite spread out along the sea. Taxis are not so readily available especially in the evenings. Driving allows one to make more hops and cover more ground.

Very dangerous of you to ride without a licence.

I see, I guess hua hin must be huge then.
if that's the case, driving will be a safer option.

driving will be better. rent car from bkk and drive up. there is cha-am / hua hin depending on where you stay. sightseeing could be very far away ranging to about 30km depending on where your heading.

transportation in hua hin gonna be costly like 500 baht per trip depending on where you are going.

2 days or 2 nights??? depend on what you wanna do. and depending on the hotel your staying some hotel there are very beautiful that you would just wanna relax in the hotel.

i personally had stayed at Intercon hua hin / Cae Villa / SO Sofitel Hua Hin all are very nice hotel but Sofitel will be more to cha-am side.

2 nights each in hua hin and pattaya. (2nights in Hua Hin should be good to go right?? )

as for hua hin, i was browsing at Ibis Hua hin and the Restro hotel, my plan will be renting car in Hua Hin and drive around.

2 nights would be just nice. ibis hua hin location would be decent since your driving near ciccada market, water park and mall.

Maybe you would like to rent your car from bkk then drive to hua hin then pattaya. but it's gonna be quite a bit of driving so it's gonna be tiring

some questions about the drive to hua hin.
is it easy to drive in Thailand, I still hold an international driving license as I went to korea last Nov.

I'm actually thinking of taking a train from BKK to hua hin and then, rent in hua hin.

It would be better you train to Hua Hin then rent a car because you be tired out from the flight then the 2 over hours drive there.

Consider the direct bus from the airport to Hua Hin. At least you need not tear across half of Bangkok to get to Hualumphong and a 4 hour train ride. Google Maps works.
