I was comparing between Samsung S4 and Huawei M5 Pro LTE.

I finally took the dive to order the M5 because the specs versus price look better. Besides, I read that M5 will get the Android 9 update, which should last me for another 2-3 years.

I'm now looking around for a cover with keyboard. I saw a few "original" in Lazada that are priced around $120. Are these authentic original covers? These "original" don't seem to have their own batteries too, unlike the Bluetooth version.

I ordered just a simple cover for $12 while I hunt around.

I just opened my package and found that a cover is packaged inside. Nice of Huawei but I wasted my money...

The tablet is zippy but writing on it takes getting used to. Definitely it is a thumb's up for the quality.

anyone heard of huawei m6? now pre-order in china for RMB1999. ETA 20 July. China ROM for sure. possible to install google play?

however at same time, seems china m5 8.4 inch still selling more expensive around RMB2500 than m6? wondering why...

anyone bought m5 from amazon JP before? i only need the wifi version however can the UI switch to English?

I heard 8.4 m6 no fingerprint sensor. Sad....

I'm quite happy with the M5 Pro 10.8" earlier except that it is bigger and heavier than I thought. Hence, I bought another M5 8.4" WiFi version for family use. The price is quite reasonable at around $350. The cons are the tablet cover and stylus are not bundled so I need to spend about $20 to get both.

how is the 8.4inch wifi m5 compare with mipad 4? it seems like almost twice the price from what you quoted.

Where did u buy? Mine doesn't comes with cover though it is cheaper.

Mine is meant for Thailand market. The seller somehow did not like it and sold to me instead at a slight discount via Carousell.

I bought another cover in Lazada and it offers more protection and has a detachable magnetic keyboard.

I bought the 1st generation Mipad and did not have good experience. Its screen display was a bit cranky, the LTE did not work and the tablet died on me after 1 year. Hence, it did not occur to me to buy Mipad again.

In terms of hardware comparison below, M5 Mediapad uses a faster processor and there is the potential for upgrade to Android 9. Huawei is also very fast with security updates based on my Mate 9 handphone experience. In fact, now I'm getting a 3.16 GB security update on my M5.

Oh that's interesting to know... it used to be that Huawei orphaned even their high end tablets and phones after one year... seems like that has all changed...

My M5 is now finally getting update to Android 9 now :D I think paying a slight premium for my M5 and M5 Pro tablets is worth the Android and security updates :)
