Lol. Every 3 days u also forgot? Just try to key in all your usual password. Bound to hit 1...

Unless the phone is not yours
I have a friend who had a similar issue. She went to put a password on her S7 because of her job, but forgot the password on the same day. Kept asking me how to unlock her phone without losing her data(which is not possible) and I brought her to Samsung store to get it unlocked but with all the data gone. Maybe the person who forgot his password can bring it go Huawei store to get it unlocked.

How come phone will prompt for password repeatedly if fingerprint is enabled for locking and unlocking? Is it new security feature? I don't get this on my Mi Max 2 and Mate 9 and they are updated to latest os release.

Mine each time reset will require password

If both of you are asking the same thing, then I see nothing wrong with this feature. Even my iPhone and iPad works the same way, i.e. if you restart, you will need to reinput password the first time.

Hi bros

Need help... set fingerprint to lock and unlock hp buyt every 3 days it ask for a my password and now i forgotten my password and cant unlock the hp.
Any ways to bypass this and n unlock the hp w/o hard reset and earse all the data?

I never encountered the password request every 3 days part. If reboot, yes, as I used to set my Mate 9 to reboot auto at 6 am.

That's why I'm asking if it's a new feature only on Mate 10, as both my Mate 9 and Mi Max 2 are on latest software.

The only other reason why anyone would ask for security bypass without data loss, is quite obvious as someone pointed out above.

Or maybe I need to quit staying in 外太空, and move back to 内子宫.

Mate 10, if you set fingerprint to unlock, the system will require you to use your default pin/password/pattern every other third day to log in for security purposes.

Perhaps you did not use this feature to unlock your phone hence you did not encounter it.

That said, I can't understand why would anyone forget their password/pin/pattern if it's something that have to constantly do every 3 days......

I am on Mate 9, I do need to enter passcode every 3 days, personally, I think this is a good measure, inconvenience for few seconds but remind you to remember your passcode.

Strange, as I'm on Mate 9 and set fingerprint to unlock, but I don't get the pin prompt every 3 days. Only on reboots.

To the bro I quoted, my apologies if yours is genuine case.

Because you reboot your phone every single day. There is no "third day" for your system to prompt you for pin prompt. Your system will identify everyday as the first day due to your daily reboot.

Reading fail. I "used to" reboot everyday, nowadays I don't do it anymore as phone also don't lag although I don't do it.

Oh sorry. Then I'm not exactly sure why you didn't encounter it, since everyone else does.

138 just approved for my M10 yesterday but unable to get the update yet via the phone.

Using Indo SIM also can't trigger it, hopefully can get it soon to try out the night mode. Previously my Indo SIM quite fast to trigger, compared to Singapore.

I think with the convenience of fingerprint, face unlock, I am not surprise people just set and forget.

I do recommend writing the password down somewhere if one is prone to forget.

Yours latest f/w?

My mate 9 prompts to use password to log in on the 3rd day.
I'm on MHA-L29 8.0.0.373 (C636). I had also check through Security in settings but no setting to change to enable this 3 Days Password requirement.

Hmm, i am on the same f/w as yours and i encounter the 3rd day password.

Apparently there is no settings for that. Let me try to take a picture the next time i encounter it again on my mate 9.
