I think both of them are very similar, almost identical in every department, except that the V30 camera is more geared towards video (so it's good for those video enthusiasts) while mate pro is more towards stills.

for me i'm going for pro because of the poor front camera of the V30 and I am not into videos. more likely that I use the front camera.

Tried the mate 10 at Best Denki earlier. Phone feels zippy when opening apps and the screen looks pretty good when I played a YouTube video.
Good price at $790 currently for a flagship device but not sure if should get this or the pro

Bro, why? Not much of an upgrade?

It is in the AI and NPU. With these, the hand phone will just get smarter and smarter, and eventually become part of you, and an extension of your intelligence.

Hence the reason why there is the p10 saga. And I guess android fans are always android fans. I'm just here to share my opinions man.

Sent from Samsung SM-A520F using GAGT

No la, Singapore sets are at least ufs 2.0 so nothing to saga about here. Only other countries hv the emmc units that's 2xx to 3xx Mbps iirc hence the complaints

Besides, Samsung S7/e also having ufs 2.0 so storage is on par with other flagships at that time

Using Samsung 7edge now and I thought of getting the Mate 10. Does huawei have alot of bloatware?

How is the battery life for those who are using now?

Either getting this or wait for S9..

Both are current flagship hence it's hard to be considered an upgrade. However, s8 do have micro lags here and there that kinda pisses me off when I was using it.

While Samsung has more features in general, HW do have their own unique features like home button gestures, better manual control camera app (up to 30+ sec shutter for night photography), also with the NPU that detect scenes and adjust the phone based on your usage to yield better battery life. All these will take time to tell and a few software updates so we can only see if HW can pull them off

Interestingly, no that many bloatwares and most can be disabled or uninstalled. When you insert a singtel sim, it will want to install some also but I've opt not to.

S7e has pretty decent battery life but mate 10 is slightly ahead from my testing I got 7hr SOT which is semi decent only. Like I said, will need a few more software updates to see how it goes but from mate 9 and p10 experience, HW do release updates that yield better battery life. Also the NPU supposed to learn your habits and adjust the phone to make it faster and also better battery life over time. Not sure how true that is so we'll see

S9 will certainly be better if you can wait with new sd845 chip. Faster speed, better battery life also but Singapore usually get the exynos version that should be very comparable in performance

Overnight drained 15% batt and chrome seems one of the culprits. Anybody have same issue?

Anyone have collected their free gifts of the BT keyboard and hub from Huawei service centre?
