Putting aside the type of display panel. Some people may prefer a warmer tone of Pro..?

LCD tends to have a cooler temperature compared to OLED display. However, it can easily be adjusted to have warmer temperature too..

Think Michael Tan mentioned there's a bug in the demo set where the max brightness is lower when resolution is not the max. Maybe if you change that it might be better?

Why are we in the "my phone is brighter than your phone contest"?

Gsmarena already done a review with brightness test also if you want to check it out.

To me, as long as it's viewable on sunlight outside, do I really care if pro is brighter? It's not like I stand under bright sun the whole day anyway. Good contrast ratio that is capable of viewing under sunlight is good enough for me..

Becos the lock screen widget is for their stock launcher only. On any other launchers, it will not work

Oh btw, on Nova launcher, you can set gestures for double tap to put screen to sleep for 5s before lock that respect Android implementation so fingerprint will work for that. In most cases, it works rather well

Hi Bro,

thanks for the response.. Yes that's what i am doing now. Why i raised it here coz in my mate 9 i could use the screen lock widget perfectly fine in Nova launcher. I wanted to know is it the way Huawei implemented or some Oreo restriction.

Mocha brown (more like a gold hue) seems more classy than the blue.

However the blue stands out more and gives some originality to the phone and branding.

Touch decision indeed.

Go for blue! It makes you looks young (or even younger), trendy, more handsome (or prettier) and cool and stands out from the crowd! :s22:

It's probably something that they may fix in Oreo down the road but emui is very similar to miui in features where they also have a lock widget that works on their launcher only

That's because in real life daily use if it is less bright you might end up bumping up the brightness levels and that will be a battery drain. Doesn't matter what the review says. Your own personal preference of brightness levels matter.

Had a chance to put the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 9 side by side at Harvey Norman. Clearly there's a difference. Whether that's impt is up to the individual.

I have been reviewing phones for years provided by the brands and hence I do not use casing. In the past when the body is plastic or metal, I have no worries about dropping them, since the only damage is most likely a ding or scratches.

Now, with glass back, I would be quite wary. I mean, accidents happen, and suay suay you drop the phone in the wrong way, 1 time, will crack liao.

me. i never use casing.

i rarely sell my fones so the condition doesnt really matter much to me.

and nowadays mostly every 2yrs just recontract a new phone to use.

using casing really defeats the color of the phone u choose.

Battery efficiency for screen doesn't work like the way you described bro.

Anyway, the screen looks perfectly readable when I'm outside. Actually I'm typing this under the sun and it looks clear and fine. Also just to share with you, there is a setting in developer options that says "increase readability under sunlight" is checked by default. However, if you are someone that likes to compare who has a brighter screen for no practical reason, it's your right also as there are many other phones out there that is super bright like the super AMOLED phones like s8 or note 8 that will blow away mate 10 pro screen.. so weight your priorities

You removed the default screen protector from Huawei? It's not smooth?
