Yeah I read about that as well. But I do have concerns on Huawei's speed in rolling out updates coming from Mate 9. Sg is one of the regions C636 that do not receive regular updates unlike Europe. I saw somewhere that they will be focusing more on software this year onwards but whether they will live up to their promise is something yet to be seen...

So like Samsung? Other region same model number get Android 7, we need wait wait wait. Security update also???

Changed from Samsung to mate 9.tbh Samsung is the worst in terms of os updates. Huawei consider good liao...

My note was always using custom Roms so I guess I was spoilt for updates last time. Didn't feel nice for mate 9 when Europe is getting all the updates while ours is way way behind...

Torn between mate 10 and note 8. My key needs is good battery life and SD card. Was leaning towards mate but saw reviews that note 8 actually wins as it is more energy efficient despite a smaller battery.

see this review : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXp-4QyJpmo

the note 8 wins but by a little bit only. the king is the oneplus 5. iphone 8+ is the lousiest.

All my Android phones are custom rom. Umm lineageOS basically. Think my S2 on AICP, thinking of flashing the broken LOS 15 just for lolz.

Back to topic, heard Huawei removed a website hosting official rom so have to search for full file now. And Huawei custom rom support quite bad, even Xiaomi better.

I’m still getting Mate 10(decided last year when StarHub ran out of silver Mate 9 during their $150 off promo) just not sure Pro or not. If $298 is on contract for 60+ tier for pro and review say pro way better battery(ie 30% better), maybe I’ll lean towards pro.

Mate 9 custom ROM is as gd as nonexistent now :(

U can try this URL for the files. Flash using HWOTA method.

Pro unfortunately is no go for me due to lack of SD card.

Received my Huawei Mate 10 yesterday, you will need to collect the free Huawei gifts from their service centre at 313 @ Somerset, redemption period 28 October to 15 December 2017.

Been using for a day and it was hot for a few hours, then the temperature became normal.

They are giving a tpu case inside the package.

How's the battery life? Is there a update with the google service bugs fix that improved battery life also?
Most of the reviews out there are for the pro, I am more interested in the normal m10 and its battery life

There was a trick to get the updates which was to use a foreign SIM such as thai or msia SIM card.

That's for same region firmware as different countries also differ in release time. But bigger issue now is the region firmware c636 itself is damn slow so u use whatever sim card also no updates...
