Would like to check for the existing regular Mate 20 users, do you guys use tempered glass protector?

Actually me too but based on my previous experience with Mate 9, eventually the screen protector will get scratched so thinking of ordering a tempered glass on standby. That is if I don't change to the Pro. Waiting for Huawei to announce how they going to remedy the screen issue.

I've tried a full screen tempered glass with the curved sides ($20). Don't work well even with the original case, the sides keep popping out. Need to get a better one. Anyone has recommendations?

The default protector for Mate 20 is of a higher quality than Mate 10's default protector. Still using it too.

Change the mode if Im not wrong. Only 1 mode seems to not have the beautify setting when I tested but since I don't have the phone yet, I can't recall which mode.

I understand your pain bro hahah. My v20 had that issue too All the best with your mate20 next week hahah, it's a really nice upgrade from the dying v20 (at least mine was dying haha)
