Not sure if it's just me, but I kinda prefer the looks of P20 over the alleged M20 series, hoping to get a cheap deal to upgrade from my M10 lol.

Somehow the Mate 20 looks too "industrial" and modern compared to the more "cooler" P20 styling. Don't think I need the speed and all also, just the camera, unless M20's camera really much better then I have to reconsider again lol.

9g heavier (189g) and ~1mm thicker (8.6mm).

I think i'll wait for P30 pro... these flagships are getting bulkier and bulkier :(

the only thing that enticed me the most is 5x optical zoom. that's even better than their current 5x hybrid zoom in P20 pro. other smaller perks include Bluetooth 5.0. that's about it.

I will buy it next year. Normally got freebies and discount. I doubt next year will have a lot of upgrade.

Notch too big.. notifications will be affected.. if need to drop notification bar just to see battery percentage will be a deal breaker for me.. if they hv a good notification system which is LED lights customizable, it'll probably still work with good compromise.

Regular mate 20 has teardrop notch like the OP6T but rear fingerprint sensor.. why they don't release a version with teardrop and in display fingerprint? I don't care about what 3d face recognition if it has front in display fingerprint.. having face recognition uses more battery anyway so I'll nvr use it.. what a bummer notch imho I'd wait and see if OP6T in fingerprint sensor is fast enough before deciding..

optical fingerprint sensor needs your finger to press harder than ultrasonic and thus slower.

I'm looking forward to the pro's facial recognition, battery life is a non-issue, 4200mAh + more efficient Kirin chip will be more than enough to take care of the extra power required .

Didn’t mind it... if it was 6.9 inch, but it’s not... so another bummer... Huawei prices drop quite a bit so I will sit and wait and see what happens.

How do we know if the mate 20 Pro is using optical or ultrasonic fingerprint sensor?

actually I don't really care how much thickness of the glass it can work under (although it might affect the choice of the tempered glass protector). I only care about the speed at which it takes to unlock the phone.

also, will it be at one specific spot, or the entire bottom half of the panel? I would prefer the former, because I have a tendency to slip my fingers on the screen while holding the phone and wouldn't want to unlock it while, say walking.
