All this is because google never wanted to block, if google decided to block.

I looked at the legal framework which governs all this. Google can update software very fast, but google cannot update legal framework fast, it will take years.

There is no reason for google to block, in fact, making it work is very important. Google already made a provision for China phone and Custom ROM phone to access google play services, means Google bless this.

The contract of google play store, google mobile services and google services framework, is all centered around a direct relationship between google and the user. Google cannot block this.

The GSF number I don't think they can center it around one brand, and however it's hashed, the private key (sorry for loose use of this word, I am not crypto guy) identifier is for `who is certified' and not `who is not certified'.

So I can't think of a technical way for Google to ban just one brand. He can however ban everything but then it is such a huge disruption.

So are others except the samsung s10 and s10 and the upcoming iPhones.

Mate 30 has a newer chip right. How you know it doesn't come with wifi 6?

Premium and super expensive phone like Mate X also don't have what you expect of Mate 30?

FYI, Note 10/10+ also have WiFi 6

I think surely Google can ban certain model due to play store will even detect your phone is meeting the minimum requirements for certain apps. So this must be including of detection of model number.

Find it interesting that most people think just because it's official play store etc etc means US of A not snooping on you...

There are so many other ways.

Snooping is one matter. Side load added much more snooping parties. That's the whole point.

Side load comes with PLA spyware, most likely

Hahahahha! USA will scrutinize any sideload which M30 have, for now you can probably bet your bottom dollar that the M30 will be the most secure and zero spyware phone Huawei ever made.

Quite excited for Mate 30 Pro. The nice challenge is the few hours I'll spend trying to get it EXACTLY to be a Google Certified Phone and then when all's done, it'll be the fastest Android phone in the world (most probably lah).

Yesterday they leaked full info, the Pro looks incredible with the 90 degree waterfall display but what I really would like to see is the phablet size 30X with the huge screen. But still no news of that.

Likely 30X will be slightly larger or same size as the 20X. The 20X is alreday heavy with 5000mAh battery. Anything larger will increase its weight.

What I wish to see in 30X is 5G, Kirin 990, 12GB RAM, UFS 3.0, LPDDR5X flash memory and 512GB storage memory. Also better cameras, 90/120Hz screen, in-screen fingerprint reader, underscreen camera, buttonless design, on-screen speakers etc
