I like your last sentence, i felt the same thing after i saw the tempered glass on my mate 9 just now and paid 10+ for it. damn

:s22:

hunting on taobao

I gave up hunting online, most of those that claim full coverage are the ugly ones with the black/coloured top and bottom bezels, complete with the ugly cut-out for "Huawei" at the bottom. :s22:

i actually used this exact brand of tempered glass on my mate 9 before. idk if its just my batch or what but all 3 pieces got dust between the screen protector and the back.

they are not kidding about full coverage, its true. but theres always lint and dust in the gap even after using the halo effect remover oil.

one thing i realised is the oleophobic coating isnt rly up to par, i would take my xone any day.

https://youtu.be/ZYL2RfeYRSs this is my vid of the coverage of the xone protector that i took sometime ago for someone else in this forum

this one is damn good. dont need to order the other one. really full coverage not exaggerating. the dust at the sides are a little annoying, but forgivable. whats unforgivable for me was the dust between the screen protector and the back film in my batch.

After 3 days of usage, battery life isn't as good as Redmi note 4. But can still last me one whole day. At 50% battery now, 3h 20min SOT. WiFi Bluetooth location (WiFi mobile) always on. Brightness at 30% manual setting. But fast charging is a big pro just that it's proprietary. Can't use power banks to fast charge it..

the cpu is of a different league and you need more intense backlight to light up such a big surface area.

i agree with the fast charging thing, but doesnt affect me as i dont have qc3.0 powerbanks anyway.

Yeah it's a trade off for a faster chip. Got to adjust to the battery life but it's been a good phone to use so far

Finally had a chance to handle M10 at the shop. Here's what I think coming from a M9 user.

1) Smaller, lighter, nice looking. Back looks plastic less 'premium', but usually have a casing so not a big issue. Screen real estate is larger despite being smaller fone overall.

2) Smooth operations. Didn't feel lag nor warm to hold. Not any better than M9.

3) Not used to single button & using gestures. Prefer 3 buttons.

4) Screen brightness poor! Noticed it was dull, so set to max brightness but compared to M9 display set side by side, noticeably less bright, dull and yellowish at default setting for both. Not sure if one off, but this is deal breaker.

No. 4 is deal breaker. I didn't notice that at SLS huawei store. I will go have a look again. But I do prefer the Mate 10 pro.

The normal brightness of handphone screen is not good for the eyes although the images will look very good.

I installed the blue light software filter and reduce the brightness especially in low light environment.

With the rise of mobile digital devices, cataract cases might increase and at a younger age.

I use their eye comfort mode.

It's one thing to read the reviews, another to see it live side by side in the shop. Both were display units.
