That's the problem with Android phones, especially not so popular brand like Huawei. Resale value don't hold very well.
not really true la.... iPhone you buy high sell high, android buy low sell low...end of the day, the usage cost may be about the same.... eg mate 9 users probably lose $500 in 1 year, iPhone 7+ users also lose about the same, if not more in 1 year...

I bought iPhone 8+ at $1500+ from Apple website during launch as a gift. Within 2-3 weeks, the street price for the same brand new iPhone 8+ is $1300+ So iPhone holding their values don't really work nowadays.

And i saw on carousell there are buyers at $400++! Waiting for Lazada's 11 Nov promotion sale. Any one able to share details of the promotion for Mate 9? Not sure if it's worth the wait for this sale and run the risk of it OOS and out of production.

Can MT share any details? :D

After seeing the reviews and chats on Mate 10/Pro, doesn't look like a significant user experience step up fr the current well optimised M9, both in terms of camera or hardware or aesthetics. On paper specs look great but ...

I'll be keeping my M9 for now. :)

i dont think specs look great. clock speed and core counts are still the same and batt life, which was my number one consideration when getting the mate 9 should be about the same.

in mrwhosetheboss' youtube vid comparing its batt life to the likes of the 8+, note 8 and op5, it didnt fare as well as expected to say the least, like you, I'll be gratefully holding on to my mate 9, call me old fashioned but i prefer a full metal build.

Where AI apps are concerned, that is where Mate 10 will show its true potential over Mate 9 and other handphones without the NPU. Huawei is supposed to focus more on software and security and AI should be playing a bigger role.

However such AI apps are rare now since Mate 10 is the 1st processor with NPU. Next year should see more processors with NPU and more AI apps should be available. I intend to get Mate 11 as an upgrade then :)

Saw Hitec slashed their price to $590. Maybe will go down tomorrow to get... cos too expensive to get export black version...

I recommend to just buy online from Shopee with free delivery within 3-4 days delivery. I got my set from Hitec Mobile (no more stock) but there should be a few other vendors selling there and other online shops.

So far Mate 9 is the best phone I have in terms of camera, charging time and user interface in comparison with Xiaomi and HTC phones.

try searching for those nano film ones rated at 6h hardness. they can roll over the eges as theyre soft enough.

i personally am using the xone screen protector which has amazing coverage imo. can get from city square but its 70rm if memory serves right.

I need a good soft screen protector for my 1 year old mate 9 too...
I think the oleophobic coating is gone already.. my screen gets oily smudges way too easily.

Have tried the hard screen protector, ugly as hell.
Really regretted peeling off the one that came with the phone.
