Mine still ok but battery life not as good as on B118(can't remember) which can last at least 2 days. Now can last about 1.5 days which is good for me.

You may want to backup all your stuff and do a factory reset and the lag will go away. IMO, it is same like getting a new empty phone.

It is better to get from Shopee shops as the sets are local and warranty is assured. Carousell sets could be export models and the software may misbehave.

After updating to the Hi App V8.0.1.301 on the phone, the Connect to Computer is now on another app HiSuite.

managed to update to Oreo using Firmware finder. is that the correct method?

was surprised that the accidental damage covers 1 year, as compared to mate 10, which covers only 3 months.

The progress bar will move and stop at about 90% and the app does nothing after that. Even when I try to click on "help" or "faq", the same happens with the progress bar stopping at about 90%.

try this. it's from XDA.

First check if the region of your Mate 9 is the same of where you are now.
If not, download "Opera VPN" and set the right region. (C636 is Signapore)

Download Firmware Finder for Huawei.
Go to Wi-Fi settings.
Push and hold down your current Wi-Fi connection.
Push "Adjust netwerk" (or something like that. Not "Forget network")
Select "Avanced options"
Proxy "Manualy"
Hostname "localhost"
Port 8080
Proxy ?? "localhost"
Save

Start Firmware Finder and (this is important!!) push "+ Add model"
(Do not choose the model FF automaticly show.)
Type: MHA-L29 8.0.0.
Select the newest FullOTA-MF-PV for your region (C636)
Push "IN-APP PROXY" and "Ok".
Goto "check for system updates" in your phonesettings.
Now you can see there is an update. Start the update and push "pause".
Scroll your screen downwards and stop the Proxy app.
Go back to the download and resume the download.

It worked for me!
