delayed whatsapp notification seems to be a ongoing issue for china brand phones; this was what i changed on the p9 previously; hope this is useful for mate9 users
  1. Advanced settings->Battery manager->Protected apps, can set which apps remain in memory (and which gets closed)
  2. in recent apps, drag down whatsapp, u should see a "padlock" appear
  3. in advanced settings->battery manager->protected apps, turn on for whatsapp
  4. in settings->apps->whatsapp->notifications, enable priority display
  5. Settings --> Apps --> Advanced (At the bottom of the screen) --> Ignore Optimisations --> Check that Whatsapp is Allowed
  6. Settings > Apps > Whatsapp > Battery > Turn on System Wakeup, App auto-launch and Keep running after screen off

but frankly, huawei should try to solve this once & for all; like a setting to deactivate all battery saving at one go

Hey thanks so much for the advise... i tried most of it and i googled alot also... there is still some delayed :(

BTW, huawei mate 9 got battery manager? following steps i cant try also...

1. Advanced settings->Battery manager->Protected apps, can set which apps remain in memory (and which gets closed)

3. in advanced settings->battery manager->protected apps, turn on for whatsapp

I think you may have understand the wrong way around.
Your Huawei power bank is quick charge variation.... meaning it is fast to charge up the power bank. But power bank to mobile phone is normal charging de.

I am just sharing my friend's experience coz it seems to be that way.

From what I understand, Huawei is not using Qualcomm Quick Charge technology hence it cannot charge Mate 9 fast.

I've used the HuaWei Fast Charging PowerBank on the Mate 9, it charges faster than the Note 7.

I had same problem..I uninstalled, then reinstalled WhatsApp twice. Then played around with settings. Don't know what I did right, but now no more delay.

Just got my Mate 9 a few days ago but experiencing some wakelock issues with the phone, getting about 10-12% drain overnight. Battery stats seem to indicate some apps running but at <1mah.

Mainly whatsapp appears as <1mah when my phone was left overnight, however at <1mah this shouldnt be the cause of the problem? The phone is also unable to go into deep sleep as the battery stats shows my phone being awake for a short while at every 30mins interval.

Anyone who owns the phone as uses whatsapp with it experiencing the same battery drain?

hmm if this is the case, then any powerbank will still charge the mate 9 normal. thanks for your input.

From what I understand, Huawei is not using Qualcomm Quick Charge technology hence it cannot charge Mate 9 fast.

I've used the HuaWei Fast Charging PowerBank on the Mate 9, it charges faster than the Note 7.

so what is the difference between huawei fast charging powerbank and other? the output numbers should determine something? if that's the case, we can only use a certain power (hopefully not only huawei) and wall adapter to capitalize on this fast charge function.

Ppl who got battery drainage while sleeping
Can try clear ram before u go sleep
Should become better

clearing ram is by clicking on the square and then closing everything is it? i tried if this is the step. drain still happens.

Just got my Mate 9 yesterday from Sitex.
Current Note 4 dying so did not have patience or time to source for a cheaper alternative, ie Lazada, qoo10.

Paid $898 for the set and comes with the following:-

1) Flip case
2) VR Goggle
3) Color Band - to be redeemed from Sim Lim Square Level 4
4) Extra Huawei USB C cable

Just a few questions as i am new to Huawei.

How do you know if your phone is fast charging ? Is there any notification or function that will state that it is fast charging ?

As there is no dedicated Numeric row for google keyboard, any recommendation for a alternate keyboard that works like the Note 4 keyboard ?

Folders created in homescreen are relatively small when expanded (3x3). Is there any way for me to increase the size ?

Where can i get casing and tempered glass protector in Singapore ?

Many thanks!
