I also have whatsapp notification not coming in. It will be silent for hours then when I open whatsapp, all the messages rushed in spamming me.

Cannot tahan so I go and uninstall and reinstall whatsapp back and now everything back to normal!

Will keep monitor to see if the problem will come back or not

dunno if i will be jinxed... but my whatsapp is problem free. i get all notifications just fine.

Got to settings - advanced settings - language & input - language - add language... Then choose simplified Chinese Singapore.

Simplified Chinese is written in mandarin.

Personally I use Google Voice Input for Chinese to communicate with my elders, faster and easier since I can't remember pinyin for a lot of Chinese characters.

i added this...

but.. how do i bring the keyboard..

eg. at the whatsapp message... how to i toggle the hanyu pinyin and english??

Did some try and error for the above issue.

Such issues will occur if we clear cache or ram through the phone manager.
It forcibly closes the app and that is when the notification stops appearing.

If we close it normally, ie pressing home button or swiping opened apps, the notification will still appear.

Worse case scenario is when we clear the ram/cache/memory and manually reopen whatsapp/telegram/messenger.

Icic.. understood

I'm not using mate 9, but I did used mate 7. You're using Google Keyboard or Swype keyboard?

If Google Keyboard, there is option in settings to put a globe button beside your space bar. That will be the button to change language.

What will happen if i do a factory data reset? Will it also delete all the original pre installed apps and setting by Huawei?
I had installed a phone clone and had had transfered all data n apps from my old phone. Now i found out there are duplicated app n data causing confusion to me.
I had wanted just to transfer my phone contacts only to my mate 9. Thanks

Should your phone contacts be backed up in your Google account? When you add your Google account to settings > account, your contacts will be synced to your phone.

No, factory reset will not delete Huawei pre-order installed apps.

Agree with Bobby. You just do 1 time import to your Gmail. In the future any phone you just add your Gmail account, you get your contacts. No more headaches on contact transfer or lost contact
