Any users of mate 9 can comment on the real world performance of the camera compared to iPhone 7 plus? Torn between these two ?

I have the iPhone 7 Plus and Mate 9.

Comparing both at normal viewing without pixel peeping, I tend to like the Mate 9 better because of the vivid colors that the dual "Leica" lenses exhibit, not unlike the P9, that I find endearing.

But zooming in, it is clear that the iPhone 7 Plus exhibits less noise and lesser watercolour effect than the Mate 9. The image processing while improved by the B136 firmware, is no match yet for the iPhone 7 Plus.

The Mate 9 camera is much better than the Mate 8... IMHO so much better than the Xperia XZ, HTC 10 and OP3 but not the S7, IP7, Pixel & V20.

And thus I hold on to the Mate 9 as my daily driver, as it has so much going for it than just the capable camera.

The B138 firmware is out for Europe.

Huawei has released a new B138 firmware update for the European Mate 9 (MHA-L09) to improve power management and fix touch sensitivity issues in some games.

Using the Firmware Finder app, the B138 is available.

Notification bug:

I do notice that when the battery is 90% full, the light on top right hand will indicate it's full already and not at 100%..................

It is the same with Mate 8
