I've got 6p, pixel, oneplus3t and now mate 9.

OnePlus 3t is closest to stock, but emui is pretty damn good. Just hide the Huawei apps.

There are many useful features that emui has actually (eg knuckle to draw a selection for screenshot)

But most importantly, mate 9 has been tuned to speed, battery life and smoothness. It's the best I've used so far, even compared to pixel.

Used Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013 (if it matters) and OnePlus 2. The Mate 9 is a handful to handle lol but it's really snappy and the battery life is commendable. Camera wise it's pretty good too. It's comparable to the s7E's camera but when it comes to low light the S7E blows it out of the water.

About the skin, it's really nice to use actually. It has many nice features that I don't really realise I need like the blue light filter and auto reboot. App twin is also a plus too.

I am a little confused over the different types of huawei chargers - was thinking of getting one from taobao, but the fastest they have so far is the 9V2A charger - which I think is still slower than our supercharge adapter which comes with the phone, right? thanks :)

Better than the Pixel? Wow! I could not get myself to pay for the insane price of the Pixel here, especially when there is no warranty. I am going to check out the Mate 9 now...

Not sure if it works with the Mate 9 but the one that comes with Mate 9 is rated at 4.5V 5A(22.5W). 9V 2A is only 18W so yeah, it's slower than our Mate 9 charger.

Yes I've been using pixel abt 3 months already. Mate 9 is better. Somehow theyve optimized smoothness/responsiveness.

Like for example typing a reply in Gmail to a long email will definitely get some touch latency for the pixel, so typing is sluggish.

However in mate 9 it's super fast and speedy typing always.

At $755 for dual sim local set 2 years warranty can't go wrong!!

Just got an Huawei Mate 9 to replace my LG G4 that died from bootlooping issues. Got it from Hitec Mobile.

Just curious if any of you have the same issues. I tried checking the warranty on http://consumer.huawei.com/sg/support/warranty-query/index.htm and it states:

Product Model: Mate 9 Dual SIM(MHA-L29)
Warranty: I`m sorry your device doesn't belong to Singapore and Huawei doesn`t support international warranty. Please refer to the place of purchase for more details.

their online warranty checker is cock up one. i keyed in my IMEI and it says the IMEI is invalid

Called their CSO, pass them my local receipt, then they settle for me. quite good service as they constantly follow up with my case (keep receiving calls from them for updates)

Wanted to go for OP3T but the touch latency issue and AMOLED changed my mind so I decided to go for the Mate 9 instead, touch response surprised me and the battery life, gosh. 0 complaints and other than the fact that there isn't a proper full coverage TGSP that can fit properly with a case, the phone is flawless. Btw, P10 and P10 Plus released today.

Don't buy the SuperCharger online unless you're absolutely sure it is the legitimate one. The charger and cable are both proprietary so gotta be careful. Got one bro said a few pages back that charger and cable selling for $48.10 iirc

Saw it floating around on XDA but I don't think it's for our MHA-L29 units. Got people flash the ROM, kena bootloop. Wait till it's on Firmware Finder lor.

I tried the one plus 3t for one week. Not bad for the price, but mate 9 surely better overall for me.

I have the same issue too! mine is a starhub set.

no worries though - i've asked huawei customer support and they said just keep the invoice/receipt and that will be sufficient to warrant us 2 years warranty from date of purchase :)
