No data was lost. Only felt uncomfortable as the screen pop out due to bloated battery. But they reassured me that they will seal it up when battery was replaced.
As for number of times the battery can be replaced, I am not sure but my guess is it should be for the 2 years.
As for why the battery got bloated, I am using a mobile data internet so the handphone is my computer that I use to surf the net and watch videos daily. So I guess it's kind of overcharged as I charge quite a number of times daily for the past 1 year plus.

But, normally battery warranty is 6 months - i.e. half of phone warranty. So, Mate 9 warranty being 2 years, is it still 2 years for the battery or 1 year it the normal 6 months?

Anyone read into the warranty clause for Mate 9 regarding this?

I think it's very normal for battery to deteriorate over use. Esp nowadays ppl charge and use so much daily. It reduces battery life much quicker. Sometimes don't even need 1 yr to see the deterioration, 6 months can see the diff already

yes but you can't change battery just because of deterioration right?

Yup don't think so. Previous guy said he got his replaced cus of bloating.

On a side note, does anyone have a screen issue. Scrolling through Facebook comments, my finger swiped past the like button but never intended to click, it actually "long-clicked" it and the multiple emoticons come out for me to choose. Don't see any problem with using the phone, but only problem is scrolling through the comments and that happens.

I get the context menu appearing intermittently only when scrolling through facebook comments. This does not happen anywhere else.

Doesn't bother me that much so I have been living with it.
