1) Can use Google Pay for NFC payments normally?
2) Will location history be available on Google Maps? (My other phone on China ROM - Location history does not work)

cannot use google pay. Huawei pay only.

No location history.

Basically is work around so not everything can work.

Try using Singtel dash lor. U got try lighthouse ? Can log in Google map and see history but the guided navigation not so good as they cannot pinpoint your location realtime ( due to no gms)

Their own map quite good for navigation mah. Or use “here map” by Nokia

Hi guys, can I check if you are using this phone and WhatsApp, are you able to display the names of your contacts instead of just the phone numbers?

I have tried lighthouse, Gbox, etc to download WhatsApp and google drive, but I can't get it to display the names. I have also tired the online methods to remove/sync WhatsApp account, etc, but nothing works.

Appreciate any inputs and TIA.

Yes it is working. You shoudl actuallly install lighthouse first and then Gdrive and install whatsapp. Then when inside whatsapp, backup automatically with Gdrive . Usually whatsapp contacts will take some time to populate

Yes it is working. You shoudl actuallly install lighthouse first and then Gdrive and install whatsapp. Then when inside whatsapp, backup automatically with Gdrive . Usually whatsapp contacts will take some time to populate

Another question; did you change the region back to Singapore after installing lighthouse? I changed back cos some apps are different in Malaysia region.

Actually I use diff method. I just download the lighthouse APK from xda so I never change region at all but the method u mentioned should work ( did that for my previous m50p)

I still couldn't get WhatsApp to display the names. This was what I did:

1) downloaded lighthouse via xda, logged into my Google account.
2) downloaded Google drive via apk, so far so good.
3) downloaded WhatsApp via petal search.

I then logged in to WhatsApp and restored chat, and only numbers were displayed.

So, I did a backup to Google drive and it went through. However, as of this morning, the names were still not showing.

Think I'm missing something cos when I click the new chat icon (bottom right green icon), there's nothing in my contacts list (even after clicking refresh). When I click to check the contacts option (3 dots on top right), it shows nothing as well.

It's like all my contacts are stored in Huawei account only and nothing in Google account. I downloaded Google contacts app previously and it showed nothing as well

Not sure what else I need to download or steps to follow.

Did you backup your whatsapp contacts onto Gdrive using your prev phone ? After that is confirmed, then try to install whatsapp and backup from Grdrive. I suggest to use the whatsapp from Apkpure, sometimes the whatsapp from petasearch or app gallery would be the one optimized for huawei (without GMS). In this case since you are using lighthouse to simulate GMS, you can use the google enabled one.

I tried the steps that you suggested, but still couldn't.

Then I pressed the contacts option in WhatsApp again, but this time I selected the option to import contacts from another phone using Bluetooth.

To my delight, the contacts from my old phone managed to transfer to the mate x3 Google account, and the names all started to show in my WhatsApp.

This is the first time that I have to do so, cos previously the contacts and names would just automatically appear whenever I changed handphone or installed WhatsApp on another phone.
