Well, read this - The nova 5T has a 6.26” LCD panel with a punch-hole design for the selfie camera. It has a 32 MP f/2.0 shooter which should take neat photos in all environments. The screen does not allow a fingerprint scanner underneath, but Huawei did a good job placing it on the side.

after inserting malaysian sim the phone prompt for an update to 9.1.0.195 (C636E2R1P1) but its not downloading. when i switched back to singtel sim, it says it says your software is up to date. currently on 9.1.0.172. is that the latest version for singtel set?

Just recontract my SingTel Combo 2 plan (SingTel Circle benefits -- annual free upgrade of handset) at S$28 (S$58 usual price minus S$30 online offer). I was looking at Huawei P30 but it costs S$250 higher than Nova 5T.

Usually the subsidy for my plan is roughly S$350 to S$400 so SingTel values this phone at S$408 to S$458 (not counting the S$30 online offer). And SingTel values P30 at around S$658 to S$708.

On the other hand, Mate 20 was on offer previously at S$498. So S$408-458 sounds about right.

I am not selling the phone but just curious what is the price people are paying for this phone. At around S$470 it seems value for money.

P30 has main advantages of 3.5mm Audio Jack and memory expansion, slightly smaller size.

Nova 5T has 2GB more RAM.

I bought mine at $470 at ah beng shop at amk central in early december. Price now drop to $440

Thanks. This is in line with my estimation.

My first impression of the Huawei Nova 5T phone is pretty good. Camera is comparable with my current P20 and even a bit more vibrant. Performance seems to be a bit better as well (Kirin 980 vs 970, 8GB RAM vs 4GB, same 128GB storage, both with no expansion storage, same 22.5W quick charger, same USB C port and same USB C headset, both with no 3.5mm audio jack).

Only thing worse than P20 seems to be WiFi signal strength. Close range WiFi speed are the same but at farther distance Nova 5T seems to lose out.

I have not put any SIM card in yet and it is still version 9.1.0.167. I will try Starhub prepaid SIM and China Mobile SIM later.

I popped in my China Mobile SIM and it got SingTel network. After that it prompted for 9.1.0.195 updates which I downloaded and installed without any issues using WiFi ( SingTel Fibre 1Gbps plan).
