I popped in my China Mobile SIM and it got SingTel network. After that it prompted for 9.1.0.195 updates which I downloaded and installed without any issues using WiFi ( SingTel Fibre 1Gbps plan).

Just signed up for free TPG 6-months free trial and collected the SIM card from Challenger Jurong Point.

Nova 5T is one of the supported phone for VoLTE calls of TPG.

Still at 9.1.0.195 though which is not a problem for me. My main phone P20 is also at EMUI 9.1.

I managed to update to 9.1.0.195 using Malaysian sim card. Think there is a problem with Huawei server that night. Tried again the next morning and it downloaded and installed successfully.

Just used HiCare to update to EMUI 10, 10.0.0.184 to be exact.

I was connecting to Wireless@SGx (M1, Jurong Point Bus Interchange) and then I checked out HiCare and it prompted for the upgrade. Then I went back home to use my home WiFi to download the 4.9GB update and installed it.

Not much difference in real usages. I have the P20 running EMUI 9.1 and Nova 5T running EMUI 10, one noticeable difference is the drop down quick settings panel which EMUI 9.1 is arguably better because it is more compact and looks more professional to my eyes.

So far the only problem is with SingTel Cast, same problem with my P20, got sound but no picture, casting to TV via Chromecast is fine.

My iPhone 6S works fine. My Mi.Box S also works fine with SingTel Cast.

Issues sorted out for Nova 5T. Not so sure what exactly is the problem though. It may have something to do with the DNS server settings with my home network. I changed the primary DNS server from Google DNS server back to SingTel DNS server and somehow the issues with SingTel Cast goes away for the Nova 5T.

Issue of no pictures in Singtel Cast remains the same with my Huawei P20. So in the end the issue may have nothing to do with the DNS server.

Icic... Nova 5T is a decent phone with 980 processor which is similar to mate 20 pro.

This processor will be 1 generation newer than P20.

This might not be a good comparison but Nova 5T seems to perform faster than my Mate 9 on 960, slightly faster on my Mate 10 pro and slightly slower than Mate 20 pro.

This is based on my own usage and it might defer from others' usage and experience.

Yes, on Android 10 for quite awhile already.

This was the last Huawei phone with GMS.

It has dual 4g and volte support for active voice line.

Hmm that is strange. I am still using my P20 (non Pro) as the main phone and the Nova 5T as the backup phone. No issues with my P20 (bought in Dec 2018).

Maybe the P20 you have got some hardware issues. In that case, Nova 5T is a decent replacement.

Nova 5t's processor will be faster than P30 lite.

You have to ask yourself if you want cheap and good or better but more expensive.

was keen on this phone too (nova 5t), but searching around, i noted the case and accessories for this phone is quite limited. Thus can i check with you guys:

1) does this phone come with a default case out of the box?

2) does this phone come with pre-applied screen protector out of the box?

3) anywhere u manage to find nova 5t casing (armour type) and tempered glass screen protector?

What is the typical price for this phone now? Lazada shows price of around S$470.

Just recontract my SingTel Combo 2 plan (SingTel Circle benefits -- annual free upgrade of handset) at S$28 (S$58 usual price minus S$30 online offer). I was looking at Huawei P30 but it costs S$250 higher than Nova 5T.

Usually the subsidy for my plan is roughly S$350 to S$400 so SingTel values this phone at S$408 to S$458 (not counting the S$30 online offer). And SingTel values P30 at around S$658 to S$708.

On the other hand, Mate 20 was on offer previously at S$498. So S$408-458 sounds about right.

I am not selling the phone but just curious what is the price people are paying for this phone. At around S$470 it seems value for money.
