The Huawei staff at 313 told me that google apps works fine on Harmony OS 4.3 with G-Box, isnt that not true?
Maybe.

For Google Maps, location permission may not be possible to enable. So you have to install GBox, GSpace or MicroG to troubleshoot.

This applies to all apps, if they don’t work well, you have to troubleshoot. If there is official support for Google Play Store, it is very unlikely for apps to not work properly.

Another potential issue is inability to sign in with Google or FB authentication even if you are already signed in to Google and FB. And restoring past purchases may have issues.

I’m saying this as someone who has reviewed and tested Huawei tablets for years.

Workaround is just use website versions. Use maps.google.com instead of Google Maps.

I supposed you use EasyAbroad for the Google apps?
Was wondering how Chinese users manage it when they travel abroad.
What's the version of HarmonyOS now for your Matepad Mini?

1) China set of Huawei Pad Mini should be more like running HarmonyOS 6.0 or 6.1 already. I believe you can not use things like G-box already.

2) From what I read mainland China users will use EasyAbroad for overseas apps

卓易通 for domestic Android apps.
出镜易(EasyAbroad) for overseas Android apps.

3) Personally I do not recommend buying Huawei China tablets if you need to use Google ecosystem.

But I have tried EasyAbroad on my Huawei China MatePad SE 2024 Active version (HarmonyOS 3.0, Kirin 710A CPU, 8GB/128GB, RMB 1019 from Taobao, bought in 2025) and a few Google applications -- they seem to work. But I deleted them immediately as I use it purely for China apps.

Curious. What's the business model of EasyAbroad? Inline ads? Or national service?

Not bad. $100 less than official retail.
Local or China set?
Local set from official huawei lazada store. Just hoot one to try out. Don't think there is any AI inbuilt in the harmony os

I noticed that Huawei Singapore did not list the processor in the specs section.
However, on Hong Kong website, the processor listed is Kirin 9010B Hexacore! And USB2.0 (same as Malaysia and Thailand specs listed). In Singapore, only listed USB2.0.
On China website, no processor listed too. And USB3.0.
Maybe the difference could be due to SIM-enabled sets in China.
Imagine the number of SKUs they need to manage.

Agree, I tried the demo set and the matt screen looks good and nice to touch also. That means we can't paste a tempered glass over since do so will defeat the purpose of such a screen.

I am using it naked. Typing this reply on the tablet. The only bad is no sim card

The current version selling in SG is the lower end Kirin 9010B processor or the 阅读版 in China. Prefer the standard version using Kirin 9010 with cellular function
