My opinion is that one might need another Iphone/android to run certain important and secure apps if using Huawei phones in the long run

I think Huawei phones are secure. Local banking apps and SingPass work. No issues for me on Harmony 6.0.

Do they get regular security updates? Those on emui don't get regular security updates I believe

My phone security patch is updated to Oct 1, 2025. So should be safe.

I use a Huawei Mate X6 with EMUI 15. I do get updates, last being in September 2025.

I see thanks for sharing. Bought a huawei mate pad se earlier this year, it's stuck at harmony os 2. My p30 pro is also stuck at emui 12.

I am on EMUI and use it as my main phone. There are monthly security Android updates. I will jump HarmonyOS NEXT once it's available. Those apps that are not on HarmonyOS, I will not use them anymore.

Security updates is different from OS update.

Which huawei phone u using now? Seems like huawei abandoned their customers on older phones... The last security update I got was like 2-3 years ago...
