I tested it today. Random drop by dhobys stereo.
Demo set damn fail. 600 plus songs insai. All Korean. I dunno test what sia. Play a few songs only hear bad mastering here and there. Got distinct improvement if compared to iPhone and other daps.
Never tried j3 or clip so cannot compare.

care to share in more detail as to the reason?
Which amp modules are u using for your Hifiman 801 to compare with the iBasso DX100?
Kaoz, all Korean songs?! They got much better selections in their Mac and they are not using those?!They are not doing DX100 justice!
Maybe just due to sound signature preference. Read there's a China guy already sold his DX100 away and gotten the Marantz PMD-661 instead. He stated it clear that DX100 is an excellent DAP, he sold it off merely due to different preference and asked people to stop bashing it for no good reasons.
HM-801 is also very good in reproducing live music and the analog signature does have its fans.

, however i think definitely they have more Hard disk space to play with, and i noticed all their kpop is 320kbps ( kpop put flac also waste of space
) , if the korean songs don't horde terribly many space, i think its fine. Guess the Stereo staff there has to understand what kind of age group the potential DX100 buyers belong to and what kind of songs suit them more.

I do find that the DX100 is super picky on the sound mastering. Some songs which I used to listen back in the 90s, does bother my ears with unnaturally sharp trebles.

Hope they have more Hi-Res (And yes 24-bit) songs to come, meanwhile, i shall stick back to my J3 for now before the DX100 database is whole and complete
(P.S. Then anyone tried the DX100 demo at ion, that side what song they put inside? Also kimchi songs? or sushi songs instead?
If ion that side got many progressions in their DX100 then i think Koelsch confirm die die go there try one![]()
Whoa Unnaturally Sharp Trebles? Hmm When you say 90s song you referring to WestLife or Backstreet boys?(Just kidding lol)
But the 90s songs you referring to is what type of 90s music?![]()
I means Spicegirls
