Seeking WPA.DBL file for BM X60 with Windows XP

There is no more IBM for laptop.

Dear all,

I repair my Windows XP on my IBM ThinkPad X60 without backup WPA.DBL.
Now the system prompt me to activate Microsoft Windows and I did, and it just hang there without start button.

Could anyone who own a IBM ThinkPad X60 with original Windows XP installed send me the WPA.DBL file please.

Please send c:\Windows\system32\WPA.DBL to EngHuatOng at yahoo.com. (I am not allowed to include email address).

It would be very much appreciated if you could send me the file so that I can activate my Windows XP.

My X201 comes with 4 years warranty.

I suppose it's redundant since Lenovo does not stock up replacement boards should my machine fail.

It's unfortunate that TS got a lemon. I really don't have the time and energy to pursue. Most likely I'll just trade it in for a low price and purchase a new lappy.

I am thinking of upgrading my T61 HDD to SSD.

May I know which is a good choice? I have read and seems like T61 does not support SATA2.

I dont think it is worthwhile to upgrade to SSD if your machine does not support SATAII.

Yup SSD rates exceed SATA I Specs of 150MB/s which is a waste of money if your laptop does SATA I speeds only.

I've recently purchased the keymaker from ..ThinkPad TM password recovery, supervisor, hard disk, power on, CRC error repair solutions from Joe in Australia first SVP Recovery USB tool to remove my SVP password on my Thinkpad.

not true. you will still benefit from faster seek times and you can pretty much get rid of active protection.

well it boils down to how you use your laptop. mine was not usable with active protection kicking in all the time. whole system stops. turning sensitivity down resulted in hdd failure just 3 months into usage. switched to a SSD and been happy so far.

SATA I probably means that you can get away with buying one with lower throughput performance and higher capacity for the same price.

hdd spoilt 3 months into use. with active protection off. like i said its usage.

My laptop comes without active protections still lasting more than 3 months.
Like I said it still boils down to usage patterns as well as drive manufacturing.
Active Protection is moot.

Using an SSD with SATA I speeds only means that you will not enjoy the same high SEQUENTIAL transfer speeds - the main, real-world benefits of SSDs such as almost instantaneous access times, and very fast 4k random read/writes, will be exactly the same on SATA I and SATA II laptops since they do not saturate the SATA I bus.

I have a T61 and T410 (SATA I and II respectively) and this is exactly how it turns out in real life.

Of course but the point of SSD is to have fast large writes, if data size is small then the time difference will be negligible.
I mean if you are the type to buy SSDs to have your folder open just 1 milliseconds faster then I rest my case.
If you transfer large isos/movie avis then SSDs seems better justified.

slight bad luck as i have 1 dp(what to do not even 200). not a big issue mostly. will post pictures later.
