I bought some parts for my T61 from this company: Vital Computers, #04-36, SLS. Maybe u can try them?

was walking around in a quiet sls afternoon. went around looking for tech-geek looking guys and finally came to Vital. Its uncanny since i dint see ur recommendation before hand. Anywayz, they also think its mobo failure. 80 bucks to repair, not repaired no charges.

IT IS covered under INTERNATIONAL Warranty.

Haha! So it works out for you, S$80 to repair is quite a difference from the S$200 that you are expecting. Did you remove your HDD before handing the T61 to them? I would, since you may have docs that are private.

Very cheap if swapping MB. Make sure they give some form of warranty, eg. 1 month etc.

There is this dude selling his faulty MB T61p at Marketplace for $350. Maybe can suggest this to him.

Yup, Vital gives 1mth warranty.

help help. My T61p of 3.5years up lorry liao. Was working fine this morn, then decided to update AVG before shutting down system. Left it there and go for lunch. After came back the laptop cannot boot up liao. everytime i try to start, it will give a beeeeeeeeep beep beep sound. cannot access think vantage as well. Tried reinstalling the rams but it dint help. anyone help? no money for new lappy....

Why not you record down the beep beep and upload it here and I'll see what is the issue.

In the mean time, take out the ram, take out the HDD, take out the battery and start the laptop using the power supply only. See if the beep beep still works.

But i cannot seem to tether from my LG optimus or iphone 4. Any ideas? Dont know much abt computers but could it because the laptop is so old that the wifi cards dont recognise the signals.thanks

Can, I use it with my 5yr Acer no problem. Use it with the new Asus x23 that I hoot yesterday also no problem

If you are using Access Connections, clear your 'Location Profiles' and 'Find' again...

I have some questions, when you say you couldn't tether, was your laptop seeing other wireless connections besides your LG or iPhone?

Has anyone tried to link their X220 with their Blackberry via Bluetooth to surf the Internet? I managed to do so but I am wondering if anyone else has tried? I hope to see if your method is the same as mine.

I literally went and experimented by clicking on quite a few options and in the end, it worked...

Ok I'll go try it out. I can see that the x31 can see the two connections fr the iPhone and LG but it always prompts that the signal is no longer available even thought both wifi are switched on. Thanks for replying

i am going to perform clean install windows, before that i need to delete hidden recovery partition(5Gb), install drivers i need after the completing the windows install, this is how i delete recovery partition, please correct me if i am wrong

run diskpart
list disk
select disk
list partition
select partition
delete partition override

and then, what are the essential drivers that i must install from lenovo support site?

D/L the Thinkvantage s/w. It will show you the latest software and you can select accordingly.

I think there is an option to disable the recovery partition and remove it from BIOS (correct me if i am wrong).

For the latest essential softwares and drivers, you can download the ThinkVantage Software update and do the installation.
