Hi all! I'm am looking to change my work laptop to the T470 model. The pricing on lenovo SG website looks good.

However, I would like to seek some advice if extended warranty and accidental damage protection are worth buying??

I thought these ThinkPads are built to last...hhmmms

Anyone bought a thinkpad 13 ?

Looking to upgrade from a x220, currently using a L440 one i5 and i3 for work

Bought a Thinkpad 13 a few weeks ago... Good budget laptop. I bought it for $1100.

i7-6500U Processor ( 2.50GHz 1866MHz 4MB )
256GB SSD Solid State Drive SATA3 OPAL2 SATA III/
8GB PC4-17000 DDR4 2133MHz
Intel HD Graphics 520
Intel Wireless 8260 (2x2 AC) with BT4.1
13.3"FHD IPS AntiGlare LED Backlight 1920x1080WLAN/BT
W10 Pro 64-ENG

Battery life is decent (5-6 hours for my usage with about 10+% left) but not as outstanding as my previous laptop.. MacBook Air.

x270 look similar to x260 just that x270 lack of 1 more usb port but replaced with a usb-c port instead.
some models uses m2 ssd instead of the usual sata ssd.

Can I ask about the M.2 SATA upgrade for thinkpad 13?

My thinkpad currently comes with a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD. Can I replace it with any M.2 SATA SSD? Thinking of upgrading to 512GB M.2 SSD.

Thanks!

Ya can, but you need to backup ur data and clone over. Else u can buy a m2 to sata connector to clone over also can.

Hi, guys, would like to get your advice on lenovo customer support for thinkpad laptop repairs... It seems from their Facebook / other reviews that it is quite abysmal / horrible... Long wait time /can't diagnose problem ( or is wayang / still for time) /repair parts not available... Though online reviews claim that they had improved service this year 2017... So.. Thinking to get some opinions b4 getting a thinkpad 13... Thanks!

An advice , those wanting to get a thinkpad 13... avoid the backlight option as it causes a whining noise

Technically alot of known issues. Hinges easily broken, whining issue, lines on lcd.
Parts constraint, always not enough parts to get replacement. Therefore delay in repair.

Would advise people not to get it instead. Stick to the usual X and T series better.

Price is cheaper but usually new models such as these are guinea pig models that lenovo release to test the market.

On a budget can consider get L series instead of E series as battery life for E series is quite bad as its only 1 internal battery only. Usually after 1 year battery doesn't last already.

Take note that L series doesnt have internal battery and no backlit keyboard.
