for ur warranty, msg me ur machine type & serial number i check for u.

by right juzz1 should give u the 1 to 1... because our policy is no 1 to 1, if need be 1 to 1, we need to ask from LENCARE... only by approval then we can proceed. which in first u need to really check with juzz1 first... then call our technical support and from there on we have to go through the process of escalation.

and more and more machines doesnt refer to the x201. its just that lot of t42,43 & v & n series are old ald. some machines are like 4-5 yrs old the fan has died or stuff like that. dun worry i personally like the x series. i think its damn solid. compared to others, esp the x301. its just like driving a conti car and other cars, if u get wat i mean.

anyway if any guys here that sent their machines in, just pm me i'll check for ur job status asap.

lastly remember, if u decided to drop ur machine off at parkview square, call the technical support first for a case id. and our service center only supports 'Think' models & V & N series. dun bring ur netbooks or other lenovo models, those goes to MEGALINK.

cheer.s

Dasanyuan, are u from Juzz1 or Lenovo?

See my earlier post, I called Juzz1 and they clearly said it was not their problem. Overheard the Juzz1 guy telling his colleague when I complain, "I keep telling him and he dun understand, he should look for lenovo"

Juzz1 clearly only want to make money at the point of sale and no after sale service.

So I look for Lenovo and got a case id already and also got an escaltion. What does escalation means? It means their policy is no 1 for 1 for defective goods, complain and we waste each others time and maybe Lenovo give u 1 for 1 and maybe not. And it takes a few weeks.

Maybe I just sell this Thinkpad for a discount price and I go buy a new laptop. 3 year warranty left.

Now Thinkpad = Lenovo = CHEAP CHINA BRAND and cheaper than Acer

Any good solid brand that take back their own defective goods? Brand is cheap nowaday:(

Appreciate good advice.

Just got my X201.

Loving it more and more.

QM55 chipset which is the highest in the pecking order for performance chipset.

Seagate 500gb HDD 7200RPM 16mb cache. Would prefer WDC but guess since this set made in China, logical choice to get from Seagate.

My warranty still shows 3 years from default date of 15 Feb. Hope Juzz1 will update it soon for the peace of mind.

Nice if CPU is the i7 but doesn't matter as I doubt I'll utilise the full speed.

It comes with a set of recovery disc. Wonder whether it's only for windows or contains the lenovo software. Reason being that I'm wondering whether I need to make another set of recovery disc using Lenovo software in the notebook.

Nice, i didn't know X201 is using Seagate 7200RPM Hdd until i saw this. i got 5.9 hdd index points in windows 7...

dasanyuan is from ibm repair center side. situated near expo from what i read.

escalation mean if 1st level cant solve, 2nd level aka higher level aka higher authority ppl.

when u at the shop did u request to talk to manager or so ?

http://www.juzz1.com.sg/contactus.html

try calling the number in this website? not sure will be same person as u went not but no harm trying n say if u cant solve, get someone who can solve to ans u.

My 2 WDC 3.5 inch 640gb Black 7200rpm 32mb cache on my i5 and i7 also registered 5.9

ur warranty until 2013 & has a 4hrs response. dun mistake it by fixing up within 4hrs, 4 hrs response means, if u log a call at 9am, my colleague will be at ur place by 1pm. this is wat it means by 4hrs response. we have alot of calls each day and alot of customers misunderstand the 4hrs by thinking the problem will be solve.

escalation means we will bring it up to lencare to see if we can replace for u with no promises. but end of the day. for ur case i think juzz1 should be fully responsible. how can their after sales service be so bad? if u say that juzz1 says its not their problems means surely the problems lies with them.

ok let me give u guys a gd example a escalation case or rather a case that needs to be escalated. firstly a customer brings in a warranty machine alright, he claims lcd crack by itself or machine cannot boot up. DEMAND 1 to 1 exchange. we DO NO DO 1 to 1 unless approved by lencare. so we take in his machine and say, alright say we will take it ur machine and do a full check and after that escalate it. so once my colleagues or myself open it up, ta da~ signs of water spilleage, signs cracks internally to the lcd, u tell me 1 to 1 can approve?

cheers!

great machine! i just saw it today on Digital Life. 2.3k+ siol... how much did u got it for? ok, if u wanna make another set of disc aka 'Create Image Recovery' u only can create once alright. after u create 1 set, that particular menu will not appear anymore. but since u have a set, then its ok. btw ur recovery disc contains ur OS + all the thinkvantage stuff. alot of customers come to me saying they cannot reformat or y no disc.

just to explain, thinkvantage stands out because U can create ur own recovery media. 2nd, to restore ur machine to factory settings, when u press ur ON button, when u see the THINKPAD logo, press ur THINKVANTAGE button and it will go to R & R. from there, the left side is ur menu in R & R. the third menu is the restore to factory settings, once u click it, there is also 3 sub options iirc. worst case scenario, dun hesitate to call technical support at 800-6011-343

Got it from RP for $1602 incl GST. Extremely good deal.

Chipset used is QM57, not QM55.
CPU is i5 with vPro.

Just to clarify. When I creat my own recovery disc using 'create image recovery', does it do a image of all my newly installed software and settings? Or does it just create a factory default image? Tks.

Dasanyan,

I do think/agree that Juzz1 should sort of be more responsible since the laptop is new/within 7 days of purchase. I have viewed their webpage and it gives people false impression they value service, but all I can say is appearance is misleading.

Juzz1 clearly do not have the service level to sell premium brands such as Apple, Sony and Thinkpad

For your example of a customer's unreasonable demand, (customer's fault of water spillage caused damage), it is definitely right to deny 1 for 1 exchange.

If the laptop is spoilt after like half a year or more due to normal wear and tear or manufacturer's defect, I would think your company just need to repair the laptop as per warranty.

However for my case the Thinkpad is spoilt within 2 days, and both Lenovo and Juzz1 tried to avoid responsibility. I seriously do not think such is the service level of premium brand such as Thinkpad. Or perhaps Thinkpad is already history.

Perhaps now it is China cheap brand, poor quality or complain if you like, I dun bother culture.

Woodlands residents can buy ThinkPad at RP roadshow. The roadshow has ended yesterday though, but there is more next month, but not sure if policy is still the same.

Else, just find any existing students or staffs to get one for you.

factory image. as per always, thinkpads always have a hidden partition, thats where ur R & R comes... so never fret, always back up ur data. then u can suka suka keep reformatting if u think its slow. lol

boo,

i understand where u're coming from. actuallyif i were u, i will also make noise at juzz1, cause its 2 days. this issue of urs very familiar with another thread i read i think either here or vr. about a guy buying a processor from tradepac. then something happened within a week, tradepac ask him go intel, intel ask him go back tradepac. then tradepac say no stock cannot change or some crap. but for my side - the service center. we dun have brand new machines to do 1 to 1, u know wat i mean? we are not a reseller. thats y if customers wish to do any upgrade, pls visit sls or funan. i'm not saying u cannot buy like batt or ram or hdd from us. but everyone knows how cheap a hdd is nowadays, sls will surely give u a better offer in parts. back to ur case, i hope lencare can alias with juzz1 regarding this, but sadly i've got no say. i'm not a big shot in the service center :s13:

Tristan21: Not possible...

erwin, are u from juzz1? cause if u are a perm staff or something. pls let ur customers know about warranty & stuff. u guys gotta do a better after sales thingy. i mean i'm not saying u bring ur customers faulty machines or wat la. but at least tell them wat can be done orsomething if a problem occurs.

another point to add regarding OUT OF WARRANTY MACHINES.

Diagnostic Charge - $53.50

if u wish to proceed, u top up $21.50 for labour.

Labour Charge - $75

if u proceed with repairs regarding ur OOW machine aka pay for the part; the particular part u have repaird have a 1 yr warranty from the date u made ur purchase. if after the quotation that has been sent to u, and u dun feel like proceeding, its $53.50 (including GST)
