I don't really trust the refurbished machines at SLS. But this is my personal opinion.

Is there a fixed period which Lenovo will have good sales in a year? I might be able to hold back this purchase till early July.
I checked Lenovo website, shopee, lazada, and seems like E14 is about the same price below $1100.

I think I am the type of old school buyer, will feel more secure with proper manufacturer warranty.

I targeted mine for around Black Friday/Christmas. I think it's a bit far out for you. Am not sure if they run other sales though.

Fn ctrl wrong place, many other buttons also arranged differently, and most recently, the ***** power buttton is a normal button above backspace.

Ppl wanna press backspace will accidentally press the power button

hmm.. might be these brands are the ones my colleague had. power button is same size same type of button as delete , right above backspace.

Slight correction. Thinklight in older models were activated by Fn + PgUp, which were the bottom left and top right corners of the keyboard, and that made it easy to activate even in the dark by just feeling the corners of the keyboard.

Hmm I am not that good in such technical aspects. I just need something to bring to school for studies on weekends, do projects and assignments, won't be gaming on it. A front camera is good to have, in case need to zoom for study virtual meeting. I don't mind even it's not lightweight or 14" screen

So it's not a Thinkpad, as you previously strongly claimed it was.

I went through so many product diagrams and parts diagrams, and couldn't find any that you insisted your colleague had, nor did you come back with details.

Apple's implementation made those buttons stiffer and harder to accidentally press, so you require additional force to depress and engage the button. Also there's a safety mechanism in that you have to hold down the button a bit longer than just depressing it - and these are caught both at the firmware and OS level.

After that backlight keyboard was introduced

That’s why to toggle the function for backlight it’s fn-spacebar now

For SUSS, that front camera and working video calls is more a must for collaborations. If you're stuck in virtual classes cos you have to take University Core modules, those are online-only, including presentations.

i dont really recall which 1 is it liao. alot laptop companies start implementing nonsensical designs like these..

Hmm. Given that it's the lower print on the button, wouldn't you have to press Fn+bksp to get Sleep?

I saw reseller selling T460 around $600 range with proclaimed warranty. Are these usually legit?

Anyone here ordered directly from Lenovo sg website before?

I received a faulty laptop, and the replacement initially offered was "a similar model within our resources". Did I just buy a brand new model shipped from their factory in China and now offered a refurbished replacement?

Btw, the laptop I ordered was launched at most 6 months ago, and is still available for sale on Lenovo sg website.

How can I tell if the replacement is a refurbished one? Will looking at the manufacture date help? My order is a customized one, so the faulty laptop showed the Mar 2021 manufacture date - a date i.e. after my order date.
